We have won the war on terror in the Iraqi theater and there is no doubt about it.

Who is still killing our soldiers in Iraq then? Must be ghosts of "defeated" Al Qaeda.

"Who is still killing our soldiers in Iraq then? Must be ghosts of "defeated" Al Qaeda."

The only soldier we've lost this month was due to a non-hostile work accident.

Moreover, equating "victory" to "never losing a man" is silly. Even defeated enemies still maintain the ability to kill the occasional foot soldier.

VICTORY in this kind of war will never equate to zero casualties in our side or the civilian side. There will be casualties but notice that the number of casualties among our troops and civilians in Iraq has decreased dramatically and there is no place for Al Qaeda terrorist to hide anymore. The remaining of AL Qaeda defeated force was crushed last month in Mosul which was their last big refuge in Iraq.

For the last ten days, no one.

At its worst, the whole of the combined effect of Al Queda in Iraq, the Shia, the Iranian proxies, and the various other groups, plus natural causes and 'hold muh beer' moments killed our soldiers at a rate typical of being in ones late 30s in New Jersey. While we should honor those who have placed their lives on the line, and endured the hardships, the idea that we were ever losing a lot of soldiers has been silly.
