I live in Birmingham UK and have never been worried. London however is like Detroit, New York, Babylon and Ancient Rome all at once.
How's Manchester? I have a friend who grew up there and said he never wants to go back. Though he's been here in the US for about 5 years. Maybe it's gotten better.
