On the Fourth of July, as did John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
It is fitting. For true defenders of the Constitution, the Fourth of July IS a good day to die...

On the Fourth of July, as did John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. And James Monroe.

Indeed, it is fitting for a patriot to die on the 4th of July.

On the Fourth of July, as did John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.Yes. On the same day, 50 years to the day of the signing. I've always been astounded by that historical fact.

How fitting that he died on July 4. He was America’s greatest statesman of the second half of the 20th century, and I believe that (though he may have been wrong on the “fairness doctrine”).
