No, liberals hate America and love politicians as versus conservatives who love America and our Constitution and Bill of Rights and hate politicans who destroy us, espeically the new age dems and rino socialists destroy all of us.

Conservatives and libertarians, love America as one would love a spouse. We cherish America, and everything she stands for. We respect America. And we would do anything to defend her.

Liberals, “love” America the way an abusive spouse “loves”.

They want to control America. They want to change America.

They want America to obey their ideas, of what America should be. And they are perfectly willing to harm America, if that’s what it takes.

That’s not love.

That’s “control freak”.

It’s illogical to claim to be patriotic while at the same time desiring to change every thing about society and the way the USA operates. So I’d say that, no matter how many public protestations made to the contrary, liberals do hate America. Claim otherwise are merely PR BS to cover up their desire for a totalitarian slave state.

The dominant opinion leaders on the left view the nation state as anachronistic, are suspicious of national sovereignty, prefer government by self-perpetuating bureaucracy to government by election, and would prefer to see the U.S. subsumed in an EU style web of commitments. Add in socialism and a default world view that views the U.S., primarily because of the capitalist system, as the source of many if not most of the world's problems.

But these same people would hotly deny that they are unpatriotic. They see these views as a more mature form of patriotism. But in truth, they view themselves more as aspirational citizens of the world, not of the U.S.

In general, I'm not too fond of these "can't we all just get along?"-type pieces, but something about the thesis of this piece rankled me and I could not figure out why.

Then it hit me: the author is basically saying that conservatives yearn for a past America, once great but now in decline, while liberals yearn for an ideal America, one coming if only they obtain control.

This grossly misreads the true conservative philosophy. And it actually slanders one of our greatest conservative heroes: Ronald Reagan, who always was optimistic, always looked forward to a brighter future and an ever greater America.

I think the author actually has the true roles reversed here: it's liberals who now look to the past: the New Deal age, when they controlled everything. Conservatives are trying to get America back on its true republican (small "r") path: limited government and unlimited freedom and opportunity.

The American who volunteers to fight in Iraq and the American who protests the war both express a truer patriotism ...

That is not to say their patriotism is equal by any means,
for that to be true the war protestor would have to protest
IN IRAQ, that is if part of patriotism is sacrifice. For they sacrifice nothing, protesting at the mall.

Liberals love many geological features of the US: the Rocky Mountains, the Mississippi, the Grand Canyon, and so on. They hate our government, our economic system, our culture, the cars we drive, the food we eat, the houses we live in, and the predominate religion. Whether they hate America depends entirely on what your definition of America is.

I think liberals believe that nothing good has happened in the U.S. in 300 years. They delight in finding new flaws in the country’s history. They believe, as Rush Limbaugh says, that America needs to be taken down several notches.
