Hoping that everyone pauses at least once on the 4th to remember what it actually celelbrates.

Happy Independence Day to ALL!!

This day means alot to me and this is my first without my Mom who was so Patriotic it was unbelievable. My house was always decked out in the Red, White & Blue. While looking for decorations this year in NY was close to impossible to find, I was telling my Sister in Fl and she said no one really decorates anymore. But she did see a house on one of the main strips that had flags out and a big sign BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!!!. That just p’@d me off big time. How soon we forget 9/11. It’s all just politics and I’m sick of it.
God Bless America. I just hope alot of people open their eyes come Election day or we will be in big trouble.

I hear you, FRiend. We need to remember always how lucky we are to be living in the greatest nation on earth and to have so many noble young men willing to protect our freedoms.

Last night, my husband and I attended the Independence Day celebration in a nearby town. The fireworks are preceded by stirring patriotic songs. The musical portion concludes with the Pledge and the National Anthem. Every year, it gives me chills.

During the fantastic display, I asked my husband, rhetorically, “How many countries in the world get to celebrate like this? How many countries in the world have reason to celebrate like this?”
