With yet another probable rape/murder of a young girl in Vermont, I hope the liberal members of the Supreme Court who voted to spare child rapists of the death penalty slept well last night.
I'm sorry, but should I win my state legislative race this fall, I plan on testing that decision again by introducing a "one strike, your dead" bill that would put child rapists/murderers away for life the first time they victimize a child.
The time for compassion and mercy is over.

The Supreme court is nuts. That 4 of the 9 justices could rule against the individual right to keep and bear arms as enumerated in the constitution is strong evidence. The Kelo decision. The empowerment of unelected bureaucracies like the EPA. The “right” granted to kill the unborn. Plenty of bad, unconstitutional decisions have arisin out of the very body that stands to defend the constitution.
I call BS. I would rather we move toward public executions, limited appeals, 10% annual culls of people in prison, and shrugs if we find that an innocent prisoner was killed. It's time for the pendulum to swing back the other way.
I also notice Parks' site is not above a little titillation.
Excuse me, but the girl was lured to the house by a sex offender to be raped, and then was murdered.
Be very careful before you accuse me of exploitation.
And the picture was from a film at the Sundance film fesitval, where the topic of child rape was almost glorified. And we ask why we have these problems.
Should I have selected the picture of a torn flower or something?
The convoluted argument the 5 Judicial abominations made was that by child rape not meriting the death penalty it would PREVENT murders from happening following said rape (yeah, just rape the kid and let ‘em go). Looks like what they tried to rationalize wouldn’t happen happened anyway in this case.
I said titillation not exploitation. Why else post the pic of Ricci?
To reiterate a point I've made several times over the years, if the wives and children of politicians (and/or Supreme Court justices) were the targets of pedophiles and rapists, I'd bet my house that executing child rapists would have been found Constitutional, and would not have been deemed "cruel and unusual punishment".
I don't agree with that either. Ninety seven percent of all politicians simply don't care what happens unless it affects their power.
Yes, I followed the link. I saw where it led.
Your link led to a page that displayed this:
That was enough to get me to go to the original source.
The left (like those judges) doesn’t seem to have a problem with the topic.
And that’s why I provided the link and not just post the pic for “titillation”.
The problem have with the SCOTUS ruling is that it achieved the right result for the wrong reason. There's nothing "cruel and unusual" about executing people who rape children. However, it is horrible public policy to encourage somebody who's just raped a child to follow up by murdering her, which is what imposing the death sentence for such rapists will do. After all, if a rapist has nothing to lose by murdering his victim and everything to gain by destroying the evidence, why shouldn't he finish the job?
There is no evidence he was convicted of sexual assault against a child. The case he's in jail for now is a part of the Bennet case.
Should we have put him to death between his arrest and arraignment?
In any case I am not for the death penalty for child sexual assault unless the girl is murdered in the process. I would have to be convinced otherwise.
Yeah, well let’s hope it doesn’t happen to one of yours. That would be a helluva way to change your opinion.
I removed the pic to spare the sensibilities of some here.
That should have been “sensitivities”.
The S. Ct. justice who wrote the opinion apparently didn’t know that “emerging opinions” were that child rapers could be executed. The Uniform Code of Military Justice was just recently amended to add rape of a child to the list of crimes punishable by death. And it was adopted by the authorities required.
Had she lived, I wonder how State Rep. Fagan D-MA would have destroyed her on the witness stand?
Just make sure child rapists get their sentence with the general population of a maximum security prison. Don’t isolate them in their own group or put them in solitary.
I wish certain members of SCOTUS could be impeached for their almost complete disregard of the Constitution. Justices that use foreign law and personal beliefs in their interpretation of the Constitution constitute traitors at worst political hacks at best.
