McCain is right. Before the Clinton Cutz, the Army had 18 divisions and about 750,000 troops. The Marines were approx. 300,000.

It is not possible to fight one war with less than that. We now know the old “2 war” theory was bogus on that number, but it will allow us to hold back the horde while we decide whether or not to bomb them into oblivion or conscript a WWII sized army....maybe a combination of both.

McCain has been right on this subject for some time now.

The Marines were approx. 300,000.

You're incorrect by over 100,000. The Corps hasn't been that large since WWII.

FY 1992 - ~185,000 Marines

FY 1993 - ~178,000 Marines

FY 1994 - ~174,000 Marines

FY 1995 - ~174,000 Marines

FY 1996 - ~175,000 Marines

FY 1997 - ~174,000 Marines

FY 1998 - ~173,000 Marines

FY 1999 - ~173,000 Marines

FY 2000 - ~173,000 Marines

FY 2001 - ~173,000 Marines
