McCain goes to Colombia and is rewarded with our Allies taking out some more of Hugo's FARC buddies and getting our 3 men back after years in captivity. Hope they hold a press event with McCain standing with the hostages and saying it was tough Colombian military who won the day, not peacenik negotiations.

I don't know if McCain did anything, but, I'm sure it's possible that Columbia asked for something and McCain told them it would be easier to get it for them if they were to "rescue a couple of hostages".
I bet the Left is wanting to know where Col. North was this morning, god forbid he is out rescuing Americans and supporting Democracies against communist again.

I hope we get to see the 3 men soon in the media.

Incredible, huh? All that talking and pleading with no results, not to mention a few “strongly-worded letters” to FARC.

I just read the story at Google, and what happened was the Colombian govt. had men who infiltrated FARC, and who tricked the people at the camp, where Betancourt and the American men were being held, into thinking that they were being transferred to another camp, under the control of another group.
Betancourt said that when she saw the men to whom they were being transferred, they were wearing Che t-shirts, like FARC members. When she got on the helicopter, she saw the man who had been the commander of the camp on the floor of the helicopter, bound, and with his eyes covered. That's when she realized something was up, and after they took off, the men explained that they were being rescued. She said they thought they were going to bring the helicopter down because they were jumping up and down and hugging each other.
The story also said that the US govt. didn't have any part in the operation, though Uribe's govt. informed the US about it a few days ago. Uribe is really kicking butt and taking names of these rebels lately! Good for him.

Its a great day for Uribe and Colombia.
A lousy day for Hugo Chavez, FARC and other terrorist drug-trafficking types.
Something to celebrate, freedom for July 4th, 2008.
Three Americans coming home from captivity.
Reminds me of the Israelis rescuing the hostages at Entebbe in July of 1976.
That was a more violent rescue, this was more like “Mission Impossible” stuff.

This is great news, and in fact I talked to a senior diplomat in the Colombian Embassy today in Tokyo and congratulated him. He said they were dancing jigs over at the Embassy. I shared his happiness.
However...
WHAT IN THE HELL DOES JOHN MCCAIN HAVE TO DO WITH THIS RAID!!??
That RINO has just as much to do with it as Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin and Barack Osama do.

“US President George W Bush had been informed of the raid 10 days in advance and assured that the risks were minimal.”
Bush deserves credit for somehow keeping the plan for the raid away from the U.S. media for 10 days. The “Public” actually didn’t find out about the operation until after it was over.
As far as McCain is concerned, at least he was happy that our side won. At least there’s that difference between him and the Democrats.
