So what’s the problem? Why all the anxiety? Why don’t Republicans in the House of Representatives accept the quiet assurances of the FCC and settle down? The answer, of course, is talk radio. It is the only form of communication that conservatives have through which they can certainly and consistently connect with the general public. Most major television and print media are dominated by liberals, but conservatives are successful on talk radio.

I understand why you’d support such a law - your ideology is logically indefensible, so it’s much easier to use the force of gov’t to silence dissenting views than it is to try to convince people that you’re right and the conservatives are wrong.

If I was a GOP spin doctor I would be promoting the idea that newspapers and TV news media must abide by the Fairness Doctrine too and should have a conservative message that’s approved by the GOP.

Purposefully, the “Fairness” Doctrine excludes “news” outlets from compliance.

It is blatantly anti-1st amendment, and such an inclusion would make this obvious even to the sheep leftists that support silencing the opposition.

As previously noted, the ‘Talk Radio Genie’ is out of the bottle and future efforts to bottle it up again will be very difficult…but not impossible. Eternal vigilance a must!

That would be called “censorship” by the Left.

Meanwhile there is also talk of forcing satellite radio to carry dozens of unprofitable Liberal radio channels in order to permit that discussed satellite radio merger to go through.

Meanwhile paytv is not under the thumb of the FCC.
