Dole weighs in on Clark
McCain said he'd rather focus on issues facing Americans, but of course he's on much better turf discussing biography and questions about his Vietnam service.
And his campaign pours it on, sending over a Bob Dole statement with some trademark zingers.
"The attack by General Wesley Clark on Senator John McCains war record and qualifications for the presidency is beyond comprehension. Clarks absurd remarks signal further erosion in our nations political discourse. He should have stayed in bed Sunday morning.
Its unfortunate that a former General who ran for the presidency on his own war record thinks it appropriate to attack a distinguished veteran and former prisoner-of-war in this way. Senator McCains entire life has been devoted to public service. His achievement and experience constitute unparalleled qualification for Americas highest office."
Bob Dole has really been free with his words lately. I like it. I miss the old days when our worst complaint was Dole, at least he was Conservative, even if he wasn’t perfect.
Where was this Bob Dole in 96?
Yea , now Jim Webb is chiming in saying McCain needs to calm down with his being shot down bio. Jim webb needs to go back to writing is porno books that border on unlawful and shut his big dumb head.
I like it too....good ‘ole PLAIN SPEECH. My guess is that Dole also knows that Gen. Clark was *forced* into retirement from the military on May 2, 2000.
This situation is pathetic
GEN. Weasely Clark “retired” when the best know DRAFT DODGER in American history “asked” him to step aside. Hmmm?
Obviously several published thoughts short of a Presidency.
I dont know it he would have made a good president, we will never know. However, I hope he keeps up his barbs against idiocy. ;-)
He really didn’t have a choice with this....
;-)))
You need only recall how many days the MSM spent on Dole's reference to the Brooklyn Dodgers, to know that he could never have gotten that kiond of message out.
He has shown by his own positions and his own willful associations of many years that he is an anti-American militant and an abject marxist. Neither of those could ever qualify him to be referred to as a patriot, I will not lessen the meaning of that word, or subject the absolute selfless service and sacrifice of real patriots by equating the likes of Obama to them.
Has anyone heard McCain reacting to this stuff in a nutty way? I haven’t. Webb must be projecting his own mentally disturbed personality on this issue. The guy is one strange duck, and he has a pistol permit as well. He should be the Dems poster boy for gun control.
By the way, I took the quiz and my conservative identity resulted in: Your Conservative Breed: Faith-Based Fighter
;-)
I think I like that!
Ashley Wilkes is an arrogant jackass.
Must be the Viagra kicking in.
Or his butt is still sore from the *ss kickin' he got then.
Good for Dole. Clark is a Clintoon trying to survive an Obama ride. Good luck with all that.
First the letter to Scott Mcbackstabber and now this. Looks like Dole’s found his second wind!
My opinion is, whether Ashley realizes it yet or not, he shot himself in the foot on Sunday and dashed any hopes of being Baraq Hussein The Patriot Obama's VP.
He may become VP of Kooks at MoveOn.org or Daily KOokS though.
Jeff, those are some excellent sentences. You pack a lot of whollop in a few words. Excellent post.
