That he is, in some aspects. However, one would have to have the sleaziness of Bill Clinton to start off as a liberal, morph into a moderate-conservative, and become a liberal again after safely being chosen for VP.
My summary is that Romney has learned from his past gaffes and liberalism, and has reinvented himself into a classic Republican, promoting good-old fashioned fiscal conservatism and free-market policies. Will his addition to McCain on the ticket attract conservatives? Probably not the social conservatives wooed by Huckster, but he'll blunt the impact of Barr and the libertarians and bring them back into the GOP. Romney would be a fool to become a liberal again, risking the wrath of conservatives who once again held their noses for the GOP ticket. In conclusion, I would rather roll the dice and vote for McCain/Romney and keep the pressure on them & the GOP instead of risking an Obama presidency that'll be more devastating than Carter's.
He’s like Al Gore. I wish I could find that post I wrote months ago on the psyche of the man. Most people do not understand his motivations for running for the Presidency. If they did, they would NOT vote for him.
