I just received an email from a very dear FRiend of mine who wishes to remain anonymous informing me that her husband had a very serious stroke on Sunday morning and will likely be needing surgery to remove swelling on the brain.
This woman is one of the finest FReepers I know, she is a true conservative and a staunch defender of life. She went through cancer surgery herself last year and is now facing this. She and her husband and family need all the prayers we can give them.
Thank You All and God Bless
They have my prayers.
I got an update from my FRiend this morning and the news is better.
He cannot speak yet, but he can hum and sing.
He seems to have no problem understanding everything, which is wonderful news! He is able to write things down to communicate.
He is sleeping a lot due to the swelling on the brain, but the swelling has peaked and surgery probably won’t be necessary!
My FRiend would like to thank all of you, she says that this thread is a great source of comfort for her and she plans to read it to her husband as his recovery progresses.
I too would like to thank all of you, the outpouring of love for someone you don’t know is truly touching.
Please have a safe and happy Independence Day and God Bless.
Prayin’ and thinkin’ what a terrific person and friend wagglebee is.
Prayers continue.
You’re always thinking of others and this thread is just one example. I’ll help you BTTT later today...
Adding my prayers.
God knows this individual better than they know themselves, and every hair on their head is counted. With their faith in God secure, a wonderful future is assured.
His eye is on the sparrow...He cares for every one of us in a way that is far beyond our comprehension...
That’s great news, Wagglebee!
Sounds like the worst is over.
8mm
It sounds that way, but with strokes you can never be too careful.
just saw the thread and will add my prayers.
Thanks xs. I would have pinged you, but I know how involved you get in your dictionary thread! :-)
Oh, I know. My family had to deal with a massive stroke my Grandmother had, and my Boss had a serious stroke about five years ago from which he still hasn’t got back full use of his speech.
It’s a terrible thing to go through, but thankfully there are some who weather its effects better than others.
no problem, but i CAN walk and chew gum/pray at the same time ; ) LOL!
You must have acquired those skills since moving to Virginia, there's NO WAY you learned them in Pittsburgh! :-)
I’m not the one who is sick.
: P

He can hum and sing. What a blessing! Would that we all would even want to sing in our worst hour. Praise the Lord.
I hope no one minds, but I would like to post a prayer here, right now.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you so much for loving us and making it possible for us to come right to your throne, to speak with you. I love you very much, and thank you for the many mercies you have shown me. I thank you for all the times that friends, have prayed for me and my family; and I ask you to bless each and everyone of them, with blessings far greater than they asked for me. I come now to pray for a man who had a stroke. I don’t know his name, but Lord, I know that you know his name. Your word says that you even know how many hairs are on his head! I know that you love this man, and his wife. I ask you now for the same kind of mercy you have shown me many, many times, to be given to this couple. Help them Lord. Renew them. Heal them, for your name sake.
Also, I want to remember here, Jim Robinson the founder of this site, and ask you to remember him, and complete his healing.
But, I also come to you today, to ask you to heal this brother of ours; to lean down and whisper in his ear comforting, healing words. I pray that you would strenghten his heart and his mind, that you would comfort him, and make him strong and able to stand. Not just stand on his feet, but stand on your word. Stand firm in his faith and trust of Jesus Christ. I ask you to bless his wife, and send her patience and understanding. Give her strength to endure. Give them eyes to see your glory, and feel your presence at all times. Lord you are great! We know that you can do these things, and we trust you to keep your word. IN the holy Name of Jesus Christ, I pray and ask, Amen.
