In order to be in favor of high taxes then you must first “Covet thy neighbor’s goods”. So, it is inherently evil to do so.

What’s funny was how easy it was to corner Obama into saying that he favored high taxes in order to punish those that were “too” successful.

I forget the interviewer, but he kept pointing out that reduced rates on capital gains invariable, demonstrably, increased revenues.

Obama was reduced to spouting “it’s a matter of fairness”, indicating that he wanted to use gov’t to punish those who had more (because higher taxes don’t do anything to help the poor).
