From a related story:

"A very indecent thing," said retired Air Force Col. Bud Day.

Day's participation on conference call spawned a new round of broadsides as the Democratic National Committee rushed to point out that Day had appeared in the so-called Swift Boat TV ads that cast aspersions during the 2004 election on the medals Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry earned in Vietnam. Committee spokesman Damien LaVera said McCain himself had called the Swift Boat ads "dishonest and dishonorable."

This is outrageous.

Colonel "Bud" Day is Medal of Honor recipient. He was McCain's cell mate in Hanoi. Colonel Day was literally crucified by the North Vietnamese. His arms and legs were crippled due to being hung, beated, and dislocated.

Col George "Bud" Day

Day is one of the most decorated men in military history.

The "Swift Boat" ads were true. The Democrats and the MSM still cannot get over that fact.

That they would trash a hero simply because he responded to the outrageous attack of Gen Clark is evidence of how evil these people truly are.

Gen. Wesley Clark is a liberal-to-the-bone DhimmiRat, and uses the LibTard playbook freely. This unconscionable attack on McCain’s service is an example.
I’m no great fan of John McCain, but... I’d rather have his record, his service, his experience in the role of President than a former (incompetent, as it turns out) Constitutional law professor with absolutely no service record, who is in the middle of his FIRST term in the US Senate, with NO legislative initiatives to his name, and who espouses only socialist solutions to the nation’s issues.
I rather imagine Gen Clark was jockeying for the VP nod...

Like the Rev Wright-—If JW is a Christian then I am confused as to the definition of Christianity

For BO—if he is a Patriot then I am also confsed as to the meaning of the word “Patriotism”

The Dems are just trying to take McCain off of the real issues, such as, Congress's failure to allow drilling.

McCain should just stick to solutions for problems that government can fix, and not let the other side control the conversation.

"Sen. Barack Obama said Monday that no candidate should use patriotism as a 'political sword' in the presidential race..."

Of course he did--because that's where Obama is vulnerable.

I question Obama's patriotism!

To rephrase Saxby Chambliss' celebrated rejoinder:

We're not just questioning your judgment, Barack. We're questioning your patriotism too!

"...vowing to push back against charges that he is not fervent about his country."

Oh he's fervent about his country all right. He hates the U.S.A. When he talks about change what he means is destroying America and remaking into something more to his liking.

As many have reasoned: if Obama's adoration of the United States is so fervent--why is he so red hot to change it?

BTW, the word fervent means burning passion, hot enthusiasm, or literally red hot with heat. It's derived from the Latin word fervere, which means to boil.

Sen. Barack Obama said Monday that no candidate should use patriotism as a "political sword" in the presidential race, vowing to push back against charges that he is not fervent about his country.

When has John McCain ever mentioned "patriotism" in regards to Barack Obama?

Some people believe that having America deliberately lose a war is "patriotic" because losing wars is good for America.

Obama, in his own way, may be very "patriotic". That, however, does not change the fact that his naive and foolish ideas of "patriotism" would be very dangerous for America.

For anyone who can remember, these are the EXACT surrogate tactics used against Jack Ryan in IL during Obysmal’s senatorial run. I was still living in IL at the time and this marxist fraud had his surrogates file papers to open Mr. Ryan’s divorce records.

This character assassination was brutally continued, regardless of pleas from Ryan and his ex-wife that this be stopped as they wanted to keep their private life out of the campaign. Their child didn’t deserve to hear the info smeared through the media by the Obama campaign.

As now, Obama made empty platitudes about rising about the fray while NEVER, EVER condemning what his supporters did.

I despise this man, his party, supporters and all that they stand for. He and his handlers have one objective — pure, unadulterated power by any means necessary.

I see the obomination’s strategy now. Send out the underlings to bad-mouth McCain, and anything else. Meanwhile he attempts to rise above it all, trying to put down these dirty attacks, that of course he had nothing to do with./sarcasm
Underlings slinging the mud, and he keeps his hands clean.

Alan Colmes was trashing Col. Day last night. One of the guests called him on it, and Colmes started weaseling. Colmes also trashed the Swift Boat Vets (again). I wish Hannity had enough brains and integrity to cut him to shreds on national TV.

I can only imagine how the obsequious Wesley Clark would have groveled at the feet of the North Vietnamese had he been captured. After all, look at how he grovels for any political hack with a “D” after his name...

So the question is: What’s McCain going to do about it? It’s only going to get uglier and I’m starting to get the sense that McCain’s campaign may not be prepared for the onslaught coming its way.
