Compared with today's
The new show on CNN, after Woffie, is actually pretty good (after seeing it once a couple of weeks ago). But the guests are top dollar (except of course Christiannne Ahmanemporer. Today he has on excellent panel discussing Iran and what to do. Not the BS level discussion, but a REAL discussion.
John Burns is on, and he is a really smart character, imho. Although he is associated with the NYTimes, he is a man of character (I hope he doesn’t say anything today to make me change that opinion, but in the past when I have seen him, he is a serious journalist).
She's a rabid socialist... Wolfie's thug. Every question she asks is from a skewed, DNC perspective. She's all-in for Obama and doesn't try to hide it. No different than Stephanopoulos, Brokaw, Schiefer and the rest of the DBM/DNC hacks... just clumsier.
I just made a strawberry pie myself.
Graham cracker crust, already to go, cook-and-serve pudding over the crust, strawberries on top with a gelaton-sugar syrup covering it all.
Daughter and husband had a piece. They liked it. Or so they said.
I used frozen strawberries but only because I had just the right amount that needed to be used because fresh strawberries are in abundance too around this area.
Also already had some great watermelon and two pretty good canteloupes just cut today.
Good stuff. Fruit seems kinda high though...$1.99 for a canteloupe?
If the Rep have one advantage it is their Convention follows the Dem’s and they can take full advantage by holding off and naming the VP AFTER the Dem’s name theirs. If it is handled properly and the choice is a smart one the results will be electric and create a surge for McCain that will be difficult if not impossible to overcome.
One of the keys will be to vett whom ever their choice is more thoroughly then any choice has ever been vetted to avoid any chance of a surprise later on.
Also, what should be irrelevant, but isn’t, She’s drop dead gorgeous.
Also, has terrific broadcasting skills. Whether she has a background in journalism like Kay Bailey Hutchinson, or not, I don’t know, but she is a very ‘articulate’ speaker.
He was never really Conservative, but he wasn't too bad for a while. He actually made sort of a last ditch stand when he worked to get 4 good propositions on the CA ballot in 2004 IIRC.
I can't remember exactly what all four were, but one of them was designed to curb the destructive power of the Teachers Union. Unfortunately, although he made a pretty good case for the props to start with, when the TU and other destructive groups came back at him in force, he pretty much faded away and I think only one passed and it wasn't the TU one.
He had already been known to have health problems from the steroid use (heart IIRC and there may be others) and if his health took a down turn at that time, he may just not have had the juice for the follow up.
Also, with a whole 'Rat family steadily working on him all the time, he may have just given up. OTOH he's used to being a star and may have done his complete change over to maintain that status with his family working to promote the new him.
However, the new him seems to be pretty worn out, done in, used up, and as you observed without the old spark. That can happen when you sell out completely even without the health problems. The ultimate and unanswered humiliation: KSFO in SF regularly refers to him as PWed.
Cedric, if he can pep himself up a little, by 2010 he just might be able to beat Boxer, one of the three dumbest Senators which is saying a lot. Feinstein, corrupt to the bone but not stupid, is up in 2012. There are enough questions being asked about her ethics (she did have to/choose to step down from a committee post recently because of some too blatant financial help to her husband from her "work" on the committee) and she'll be in her late seventies by '12 that she MIGHT not run again.
Boxer for some reason I cannot determine is popular in CA and might be difficult even for a major star to beat, especially if the star is fading.
Thanks for the thread, Alas. And many thanks to those of you who watch and report what’s said. I had to leave home in the middle of one of Juan’s spews and that didn’t hurt. Except that I miss seeing his stricken, dazed look when he’s knocked on his rear. Especially by Brit......fun to watch! My VCR is busted, so I look forward to your posts.
Brit’s facial expressions are priceless...I’m still wondering just who he winked at.
Listening to NPR will rot the brain.
Is that the actual picture on Rolling Stone? I saw it a couple of other places and thought it was a joke.
She could take Barry at basketball, bowling, or biking.
He probably can’t even dance.
There are a couple of justices taking their meds to try and hang on till a democrat is elected.
Be afraid... be very afraid.
Lesson: Never challenge Snugs on food!!
Is Karl Rove really running in Mn?
I find it unexplainable that in a state with a population and a GDP greater than Canada’s we get a Bozer, a Feinstein, and a Pelosi in high offices.
