The problem is that you think this is all about whether he was a natual born citizen and it is not. It appears that there is some type of deceit/fraud be perpetrated. Nixon was bought down by the coverup, not the crime. Maybe his real name was Barry Dunham? If that’s the case it is important that he has lied/covereup.
Probably not. A much more likely scenario is that he didn't give it a thought at all. The occasions for which distinction between "natural born" and regular citizenship is at issue are pretty limited. If it never came up--and why would it until now?--it's easily something one could be oblivious to all one's life.
