I applaud McCain for finally taking a stand on this issue and opposing the activist judges in California.

This is an outrageous slap in the face to the #1 purveyors of human disease (ie male homosexuals) on the planet. Homophobia lives while homophilia is suffering greatly. Gag, cough, choke, puke!!!!!!!!!

Kudos to him for not stepping across the aisle to the Gub’s side on this as well as the offshore oil drilling issue.

More than anything, he could come thru with SC justices that move the court further right.. or not. We know what the alternative is..

Now if he would back off his comprehensive immigration and campaign finance reforms .. I and many others wouldn’t need the clothespin.

They call it controversial but the truth is the vast majority of Californians(the legal ones that is)support traditional marriage. We voted on it once only to have it overturned by the frickin’ courts. Nothing controversial about it, except for the fact CA politicians don’t want California citizens to run their own state.

In the past, McCain has tried to hedge his bets. He had said that he was opposed to same-sex marriage, but wasn’t sure if a constitutional amendment was needed or the best way to keep marriage as 1 man 1 woman.

In California, since the judges have overtuned the laws defining marriage, the only way to accomplish keeping marriage as 1 man 1 woman is a constitutional amendment.

I’ve heard others say (before the court decision) that an amendment isn’t needed, the law already defines marriage, etc. But if judges are willing to overturn established law, then the only way to keep the traditional definition of marriage is through a constitutional amendment. It should happen at the federal level too.

Keep in mind that all of these same-sex couples are single under federal law. A federal court lawsuit on this subject is inevitable.

"I do not believe judges should be making these decisions."

Regardless of how you stand on the issue, this is reason enough to support the ammendment to the constitution.

Anyone know how soon until we can throw the renegade justices out of office?

It's controversial only in the eyes of degenerate homophiles. The overwhelming majority of Americans support it.
