I say the Nightline coverage of the Virginia Citizens’ Defense League picnic last night.
Polite, fair-minded and respectful all around.
I’m faint with the idea that the Good Guys are actually going on the offensive now. My smelling salts, please.

Enacted in 1982, the law was created in response to the murders of two police officers and the assassination attempt on former president Ronald Reagan. Is the New York Slimes trying to imply that President Reagan supported illegal gun grabbing?

If there was any doubt that other bans would be in peril, the National Rifle Association quickly put those questions to rest when it announced shortly after the ruling that it would file a flurry of lawsuits challenging restrictions in San Francisco, Chicago and several Chicago suburbs.
Good!

This isn't over.
They're going to be bringing this issue back before the Supreme Court again and again, until they get sympathetic majority.

And all over the country, the soft “Click” of rifle safeties being re-engaged could be heard, audible even above the caterwauling din of the socialists....

Does this lead to everyone having a gun in our society? he said...
Virginia Tech was a gun free zone.
There was a shooting at Appalachian State University a number of years ago, in which the carnage was much less than Virginia Tech, because some students there had guns and shot the shooter.
Mayor Daley is setting up a straw man argument. Not everyone will now have a gun, but he’s not addressing the fact that law abiding citizens with guns are not a threat to anybody.
Major parts of the west side and south sides of Chicago are vast wastelands due to the gangs there, all of whom are armed and dangerous. They settle all scores at the end of a gun. They have their guns in spite of Mayor Daley’s gun laws.

In nice, touchy-feely, as politically correct language as I can muster (no pun intended) SCREW YOU , GUN GRABBERS!

I do believe that the proper colloquialism is “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.”
