June 26, 2008 -- Little dogs -- think Chihuahuas and Dachshunds -- tend to be feisty, while certain breeds, like Golden and Labrador Retrievers, are as mellow as their reputations suggest, found a new study that identified the most and least aggressive common dog breeds.

Me and the wife are sooo close to getting a dachshund. She’s off this summer and I’m pushing her to go ahead and get one. Any suggestions (assuming the pic you posted is of your two good looking dogs)?
Labs are the best dogs in the world hands down
“Huh! Try a Pembroke Corgi. They shed constantly. I used to own Shelties, and they would blow their coat once a year; but, the corgi sheds ALL the time, and Spring is just awful (as I look at my downstairs carpet and little tufts of hair all over it).
However, they are so cute and have such great personalities that all is forgiven. For anyone thinking that this sounds good, I would recommend a Corgi (Pembroke) if your kids are at least 6 or 7. They love their people, but I don’t think they are very patient with little kids who would be pulling at them.
Again, a small dog body, with a large dog spirit. Our Griffyn will chase a ball forever.”
Cardigan ones are much the same, though somewhat more laid back, and a little less “barky”. They both are shed-monsters, though.
My mom is on her 4th Corgi, having had 2 of each flavor.
I think I’ll stick to my Weimaraners or maybe a German Shorthaired Pointer. I love those Continental pointers.
I see greyhounds and whippets are the least agressive, which is my experience.
I'll be writing in my shepherd for president come November; he's way smarter than Obama, and far more conservative than McCain. He's strong on defense without being overly aggressive and his domestic policy is pretty much limited to going to the bathroom exclusively in outdoor venues.
Confirmed, Siberian Huskies are extremely friendly dogs.
Not rated, the West Highland White Terrier; generally needy, active, a bit snippy, extremely smart.
Oh my gosh! Those puppies are adorable, LOL.
I was really surprised to see beagles up there as more prone to bite...I’ve had 3 over the years and they all were so mellow you could take food out of their mouths without them snapping or even growling...my Siberian Husky on the other hand would try to take your arm off if you got near her when she was eating!
I cleaned swimming pools while I went to college....I carried dog biscuits with me...as I had plenty of dogs on my route.
Labs..Rotties, muts, poodles, and some sort of deranged little devil dog....etc....
The labs wore me out throwing balls to them....The rotties would lean on me the whole time I was cleaning...darn near pushed me into the pool more than one time. The poodles I hardly ever saw....peed on themselves when I walked into the yard.
The little freak devil dog...I hated. I had to fend him off with my pole and net..all the way to the pool. Once I got to the pool he would pretty much leave me alone...while planning his ambush on my way back to my truck. He bit me once.
Another time...while breaking down in the middle of nowhere Mississippi....I walked up a long driveway to a house, and found two pit bulls, and a little white terrier looking dog running at me and barking.
My heart beat a bit faster...and I noticed the pit bulls tails wagging...so I felt better..and kept going. The little devil pup...wanted a piece of me though. Kept circling like a great white....until I got to the house.
Had trouble finding anyone home...and took my eye off the little white devil...and he got me on the calf..right above my boot. I howled a little on that one....Ha!!
Moral of the stories...Watch the little devil dog..!!
I have a white German shepard. I can never understand how one dog can be so smart and such a bonehead at the same time.
My purebred German that died last summer was the closest thing I've ever known or seen to the "perfect dog". My younger one is a Hurricane Katrina rescue, so I know nothing of his providence, but suspect he's got as much (if not more) Tervuren blood as he does shepherd. True to his New Orleans roots, he's got the kind of intelligence that tends to get him in trouble.
Except for sometimes . . .
I don't happen to have a yellow one, but some good friends of mine do, and isn't he adorable?
"Feisty" and "Golden" just don't go together, do they?
Both my Labs seem to be saying, "What can I do to make you happy today?" ALL the time.
