I believe she remarried. No such thing ever happened. The husband being referred to in the Obit is her son-in-law, her daughter's husband....Go reread it.

OOPS, didn't read far enough. You're right, Metesky, no one could replace Ralph to her.
She once told me my husband would probably come close, but I told her I would never allow them to meet :)

I know she is in a better place and I should be happy, but I'm not. I shall miss her terribly. I feel exactly the same way. It's even more devasating to me Sunshine because you just asked me about her.

That’s our SheLIon.
Thanks for bringing a smile ot my face while readingthis thread.
I am so sad right now, yet I am also happy. Readining the posts here have told me just how much Darlene was truly loved in FReeperland.
That’s a good thing.

I remember the the first time that she sent me a Freep e-mail. I was so flattered and honored because she didn't even really know me, and she even signed it, “Darlene.”

I am going to sit down now and have a cigarette in honor of SheLion. Maybe I’ll make it a ten cigarette salute. : )
To: metesky
Prayers for She Lion (Darlene) and for her family and friends.

Sad news.
She was one who stood up for what is right and didn’t kowtow.
My heartfelt sympathies to her loved ones.

I remember the the first time that she sent me a Freep e-mail. I was so flattered and honored because she didn't even really know me, and she even signed it, Darlene. It's funny, it's been seven years since my first Freepmail exchange with her, but I remember the exact same thing! I'm still legitimately bummed about this. I always get a little sad for a short time when a freeper passes away, but Darlene was the first "freeper friend" of mine to do so. I think the regret of never getting to meet her in "real life" is adding to my sadness.
Thanks, everyone, for the heartfelt comments on this thread.

I’m so sorry. Prayers for her family and loved ones.

You folks know that I’m just going to keep pinging Darlene along with Gabz whenever I see another thread about smokers being abused.
I think she’d want that.
She’d want to keep up the fight.
(Whenever her Husband allows her to, that is)
;-)
