its not my national symbol, The flag is. Just one symbol of meaning and reverence per country may be dispensed, eh?

Many, many Americans have lost an understanding of reverence.
Yes that is so true and sad.

Lighten up Francis Not about celebrating graffiti on the symbol of the Statue of Liberty.

No kidding. Especially considering the fact that they've been doing this sort of thing with the statue since before it was even built.

Couldn’t they come up with a better idea than this. Not only are those ugly, but it’s just a dumb thing to do with an icon like that.

Hey...the Bucco one is pretty cool. Raise the Jolly Roger...the Pirates whooped the Yankees last night:)
Actually, I kinda like this promotion...baseball is the great American pasttime!

Not about celebrating graffiti on the symbol of the Statue of Liberty. You are wound just a little too tight here. I'm sure you are aware that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these items goes towards maintaining the Statue of Liberty, right?
This isn't "defacing" the Statue of Liberty. Heck, I'll probably buy one of the Rockies ones.
To: unspun
I think defacing the Presidential Seal is more tacky by far. As far as the SOL goes, the worst defacing was when it was on NYS license plates.

This one's beautiful! [uh] I mean, OUTRAGEOUS! Absolutely outrageous!

For those who don’t have any reverence, I suggest they show some respect — and consideration of others’ sense thereof. At least some good taste would be nice.

I wonder how our friends in Canuckistan will feel about the Blue Jays version? Something to add to the list of incongruities and lackings of consideration.
You know some of that arrogance that others accuse many Americans of having is really true -- especially in areas such as monopolistic corporations and advertising agencies/departments.

You are getting worked up over this? This isn’t disrespect to the statue, quite the opposite.

I don’t think of the French statue with the bleeding heart Emma Lazarus inscription to be “our national symbol”. It is one of many, and this doesn’t bother me as much as Obama’s perversion of the Great Seal and changing E Pluribus Unum.
