I find the kerfuffle about Obama’s birth certificate kind of interesting. Whose job is it to make sure that the candidates are actually eligible to run for President?

It never has to be done ---EXCEPT FOR OBAMA!
Because candidates have an easily verifiable history

With Obama's birth and childhood everything is held back including the Islam classes he went to in Indonesia
That's what happens when a kooky 17 year old gets knocked up by a Kenyan bigamist who is just passing through town getting a university edumacation

BTW--- Anyone can run. If Obama is a fraud he cannot serve as President

When & by who would his eligibility be checked? Shouldn’t it be done before being sworn in?

What if he was found to be ineligible after winning the election but before being sworn in. Who would then be sworn in? His VP running mate?

After the November election (assuming Obama wins), some person or group would have to file a motion or law suit on the grounds that Obama is not eligiable. He would then have to prove that he meets the Constitutional requirements for office. If he cannot do that, then he is ineligiable. The Electoral College would then pick somebody else. Since a majority of them would be Democrats, then Obama’s running mate or some other significant Democrat could get the nod. Presumably, the Democrats would get their act together and determine one person to put up before the College in order to avoid having the election go to the House (where each state delegation casts one vote).

It seems to me that, since the 'qualifications' to run for Prez of the U.S. are so minimal . . . native born and over 35 years of age . . . a valid birth certificate should be required to register with FEC to run for the office. I know it sounds dumb to ask this question . . . but, seriously, who will vet his qualifications, age and birth? If it really has to be up to John Q Publc, that is absolutely pitiful.
