Did Hawaii use the word African to describe a newborn’s father’s race in 1961?

I don't think the Registrar of Births would have used 'African' any more than using 'Popolo'; Most likely 'Negro' would have been used in 1961. On my son's BC from the Registrar in 1986, 'Caucasian' was the term instead of 'Haole'. They do use Micronesian and Polynesian though.

But let's cut to the chase, Dave. It's unlikely this pursuit will be fruitful trying to track an infant. The residence and dates of residence of the parent (mother) at the time of Obama's entrance into the world and the Presidential race is key. On the Registrar's Certificate of Birth is the date, names of the mother and father, their current addresses, their signatures and the signature of the attending physician. Registration of a birth takes only a working day or so (if the kid was born on a Saturday, the registration would be on a Monday or Tuesday).

It has been claimed that Obama was born at Kapiolani Medical Center which at the time had no facility to do so. That leave Queen's Hospital, Kaiser and FT Shafter as providers for obstetrics at the time. There was Straub Clinic and the tuberculosis hospital in Kaimuki and also the Shriner's hospital for kids with deformities but none of them had an OB ward (but there were MDs that were capable of delivering a birth there just like there are policeman and cabbies and ambulance drivers who get drafted in the moment).

So....the document is bogus but that's a forgone conclusion.

Track the mother and father. Their travel and dates of travel to where ever would be recorded in their Passports and Visas. This skinny would prove or disprove Obama's legitimacy.

According to the director of Vital Records, “Black” was the operative word used for race, and not “African,” “African” describes one’s nationality and not race or ethnicity.

The fact that lots of white Africans live in South Africa confirms it.

The altered text is more problematic because the only reasons someone would alter text is to hide the truth, or to create a false scenario.

It is akin to altering one’s college transcript in order to get into grad school,
