The MSM is sure to have a field day with McCain advisor Charlie Black's statement that a terror attack on U.S. soil "would be a big advantage" to the Republican candidate. McCain has been quick to dissociate himself from the remark, and surely Black would have been well-advised not to make it. Predictably, CNN's Jack Cafferty has been leading the charge against Black. In his "Cafferty File" question this afternoon, the CNN commentator called Black's remark "breathtaking in its stupidity" and asked viewers whether Black should be fired.

I wonder if Cafferty's aware that in the course of the campaign, Hillary Clinton said almost exactly the same thing as Black? Here's Hillary, in a report from . . . CNN entitled "Clinton: Terrorist attack would help GOP" [emphasis added]:

When Cafferty attacks ping to Today show list.
Cafferty? You are speaking of the barking “journalist” who end hese definitive sentence by Woolf! Woolf!!
He didn't and he wouldn't. A clever propagandist posing as a populist commentator would not hold EVERYONE to a standard. There are agendas to be filled, party bosses to please, viewers to deceive. Let the games begin.
Who will watch and report on the "reporters"? You have Mark. Thanks. They still have amplification power.
Cafferty? I think I've heard him once while waiting in a dentist's office. The visit was more satisfying than watching him.
Ear pollution.
Why not say it - it’s probably true.
Sheesh. I just linked to 77WABC to listen online to the Mark Levin show and at the 6:00pm news break they mentioned Black’s comments and played McCain’s response.
Propagandists of a feather...
Good catch, Mark.
Rush mentioned Cafferty today and bit his tongue while searching for an air-able adjective for him. He finally chose the rather benign “resident curmudgeon”. I personally believe ol’ Jack’s back at the sauce since Laura’s new show started.
As always, thanks for the pings!
Tom
I saw the Hillary quote on Fox & Friends this morning and when they showed it, they predicted you wouldn’t see it anywhere else. Since then, I have been watching MSNBC make a big deal out of what Black said and as predicted, there has been no mention of the Hillary quote.
