A warrant has reportedly been issued for Katie Couric, the face of the CBS Evening News, over an unpaid tax bill in the state of New York.

According to the New York Daily News, the state Department of Taxation and Finance issued the warrant for the newswoman's failure to pay an outstanding bill of $210.41 from 2003.

Couric, who has suffered in the ratings basement since replacing Dan Rather as anchor at the Tiffany Network, is said to earn $15 million per year.

Her spokesman, Matthew Hiltzik, told the paper the warrant and previous tax bills were apparently sent to an address where Couric doesn't live.

Someone should issue a search warrant for her ratings - those things have been missing for about a year now.

Something very similar happened to me - I had been unknowingly driving for two years on a suspended license. The officer and the judge were very understanding and sympathetic. I paid what needed to paid and that was that.

So the government is going to spend thousands of dollars to chase $210?

They like to chase down high profile types, the publicity is priceless. Dead beats out there that have ignored pass due tax bills get nervous and many will pay up without further prompting.

It was more complicated in my case: I was innocent of the ticket that caused them to suspend my license in the first place, but I failed to learn that fact also because of the address error.

I had to go to court three times to clear up the traffic ticket: 3 times because the first 2 times the judge was an insane man—I wised up and went the third time when I knew a different judge would be on duty, and he immediately threw out the ticket.

Then I had to get a lawyer and pay a fine to a reduced charge just to get the heck out of this mess as soon as possible.

Someone should arrest NY for being stupid.

I agree, but who's gonna do it? There seems to be a lot of stupid north of the Mason-Dixon line.
