Whatever Became of Scott McClellan?
by: Rachel Paulk, June 23, 2008
Scott McClellans book What Happened spans a range of events that occurred during the Bush years, including the 9/11 and Katrina catastrophes, the Plame scandal, and the controversial Iraq War. McClellan also provides scathing profiles of the star-studded White House, criticizing Karl Rove, Condi Rice, Dick Cheney, and George W. Bush, among others.
McClellan joined the Bush team when George W. was governor of Texas and planning on running for presidential office. Following Bushs ascent to presidency, McClellan worked under Ari Fleischer as the principal deputy press secretary; after Fleischers resignation, he became the chief press secretary for the Bush administration. The purpose of What Happened is twofold: to describe the events that happened during his tenure, and to attempt to salvage his reputation and credibility.
PERMANENT CAMPAIGN
Despite his involvement in politics at a young age, McClellan expects his readers to accept his image as a naïve and idealistic young Texan thrust intoand burned bythe high-power Washington political machine. The disillusionment he claims throughout What Happened largely stems from his description of the permanent campaign run by the White House and its prevalence in modern politics. He writes:
Like the Clinton administration, we had an elaborate campaign structure within the White House that drove most of what we did. We were always focused on how to control the agenda, shape the media narrative, and build public support for our policiesthe same things Democratic leaders in Washington sought to do. Bush had promised to change the way things were done in Washington. But how could he change the game if his administration continued to play by the very same rules? At the time, I didnt recognize the contradiction, and neither, I think, did most of my colleagues. ....

He sold out his friends for 12.95 a copy.
Who? Oh that Scott. I think his 15 minutes is up.
The jury is still out on who exactly wrote the book. Pieces of it seem to have been authored by an “English as a second language” grad...
Did the turncoat’s book even sell?
Soon to be on the bargain rack for $1.98.
Don’t pick on poor Scott. He was born with a severe birth defect. He was born without a personality.....or a spine.
...or testicles.
If you want to know what happened to Scott McClellan, look in the remaindered bin.
Every time I read a McLellan excerpt it just sounds ridiculous. The administration worked to mold public opinion. Wow, that’s a real shocker. /s I wish they did a better job of molding it, thanks Scott.
Spavined is ‘e?
It doesn’t matter whether Scott Mclellan is a sell-out, or a looney, or whatever.
I’ve heard the Valerie Plame story on the radio news twice in the last couple of days. This comes from recent Mclellan remarks.
The MSM are of course well-aware that the Plame story is over. They are well aware of where the so-called “leak” came from. Yet the keep sticking the tiny knives of this story into Bush and Rove and Cheney.
The battle must be taken against the MSM. Not Mclellan. Not Wilson. Not Plame. Not Obama. Not Soros. Not the fruits on the left. There will always be fruits on the left. What matters is the MSM heard on your local radio and television news. What matters is the otherwise rational talking head behind the microphone or camera at your local media outlet, who repeats the ideology of the fruity left and thereby seduces the mainstream, ideologically disinterested, American middle.
Your local radio and television news casts are the key, IMO. Conservatives should inundate these purveyors of leftist ideology with reasoned complaints. Get your newspaper to stop carrying AP stories, and we will win. Get your local radio station to stop running ABC news, and we will win.
“Scotty didn’t know!”

do you really think they give a rats ass about,”reasoned complaints”?
Watched the hearing on CSpan. Scotty’s face sure lit up when a Dem had praise and questions for him.
His total spiel was talking point from any liberal out on the street. He thinks the R’s are after him but he should listen to what the other side thinks of him. Total Tool!
