Kerry broke the law when he went to Paris violating the Logan act which prohibits private citizens attempting to effect political change in conversations with representative of foreign governments. I bet his discharge was either a BCD or worse.

A BCD results from sentence of court martial. Only a General Court Martial has jurisdiction over commissioned officers. The record of trial would be public, it is not a part of the service record. Kerry is hiding something else in his file.

I would bet that his discharge was changed when Carter was prez.

If it was a BCD, (bad conduct discharge) or less than honorable, his discharge papers may not show it...

Around the time he got out they stopped puting the type of discharge on the DD214 because it effected the guy’s future and followed him into civilian life...college loans..jobs etc..

More clarity from someone please ???

Hence the need to have revised to honorable in 1986. Interesting how the signing authority (Sec. Lehman? [memory]) doesn’t remember signing.
