I nominate Congressman Robert Wexler as the craziest man in a not very sane Congress:
It could be that the stress of dealing with a constituency which is leaving the Dem plantation rather than vote for Obama is getting to him, but he was just as loony eight years ago when he was stirring his folks up during the Palm Beach butterfly ballot fiasco.
Pelosi is busy ironing her silk scarf to wear again when she goes to Syria for ‘peace talks.”
“Bottom line, the “butterfly ballot fiasco” is pure propaganda.”
Or may not.
I’ve a friend who lives there. He said prior to the election a very large group of people who called themselves the “Condo Commandos” were holding rallies and meetings for Algore with fairly significant participation. They even passed out voter information packets that told people how to vote for Al. These packets were quite explicit describing the page and location of where to punch the hole for Algore. Along the lines of turn to page two, on the left side, count down three and punch.
Problem was, they used a draft ballot to prepare the instruction and the actual ballot transposed Algore and Buchanan.
The Condo Commandos held emergency meeting, went door to door with new instructions, etc. But there was no way to make sure that everyone got the new instruction.
I trust that my friend told me the truth as he knows it but I have no way of verifying this. It is however consistent with the fact that the democrats were calling people on election day, even before the polls closed, telling people to call this number since there is a reason to think your vote may have gone for Buchanan instead of Gore.
Know this, Wexler is not a fool! He is a REAL Democrat! And America is poorer because of it.
Why is that inconsistent with my friend’s account?
think of mr. wexler at the same time that you visualize mr. waxman pounding his gavel, threatening to forcibly remove mr. issa from a congressional hearing room. (occurred a few weeks ago. it’s on youtube.)
it’s very chilling and gives an insight into how these revolutionary democrats would wield power if their number were increased to veto-proof by the “electorate”.
(see what adolescent psychosis looks like.)
IMHO
Wexluh has never been anything but a little snot nosed punk. Ever listen to him talk? I swear he has at least a 6th grade education. Hmmm ... that may be higher than most of our congresscritters,or current presidential candidates come to think about it.
I wouldn’t laugh so hard... Half of our fellow Americans think that congress is still run by the GOP.
The last 40 years has totally dumbed down our public, between the Dummies and Government Education.
What are your reasons for NOT drilling off the Florida coast?
I live in Florida, too. We don’t need you NIMBYs here. It’s America’s oil, not Florida’s.
My first reaction was that he was lying and my second was that it was a certainty that some reporter would get hold of his phone records to check out his claim.
How silly of me.
I live in Florida too. Several years ago I saw the rigs off the Santa Barbara coast (which wouldn’t even be visible in FL) and the occasional wells on Western farmlands. Each one filled me with pride, seeing American self reliance and giving me a feeling of security.
Off shore oil platforms would be a huge boon for the Florida sport fisherman and those guides who take tourist out to fish. Fish flock to those off shore rigs and the fishing around them is GREAT. They wouldn’t be seen from shore and worrying about oil spills that MIGHT happen is silly when you consider all the good that would come from them. We fished the west coast of Florida and it was dead when compared to the Texas and Louisiana coast. I have a feeling that FreedomHope is just a liberal disrupter joined up to cause trouble.
Democrat fool. Redundant.
I didn’t go far enough. Make that Democrat fool Wexler. Interchangeable redundant terms.
Why no answer to post 31?
