It was only a matter of time until the mainstream media began ramping up global warming alarmism by connecting flooding in the Midwest to climate change.
ABCs World News with Charles Gibson took a page out of the alarmists playbook connecting natural disasters to global warming, which according to the broadcast is caused by mankinds use of fossil fuels. The segment, which led off the networks June 19 broadcast, cited a government report that stated theres definitive evidence such a link exists.
[T]oday, the administration report draws a clear link between this destructive and severe weather and the fossil fuels we burn to light our homes and power our cars, ABC correspondent Barbara Pinto said from a flood-soaked Burlington, Iowa.

I knew there'd be people to blame this disaster on global warming, but I expected it to be fringe elements, not the so-called mainstream media.
The fact is - it takes cold air and hot air to create these storms, so I suppose we could blame global cooling just as much based on this philosophy.

Also, the "crack in the Earth" that forms the main channel for the Mississippi is about 17 miles deep.
Not all that many 17 mile deep "cracks" in the middle of a continent, but somehow this eludes the notice of the MSM "newsies". Didn't they think, perhaps, there'd been a whole lotta' floodin' goin' on?

I'll see their supposition...
and raise them by noting that this current rain dumping hasn't been
as bad as the 1993 flooding, as regards the Missouri and Mississippi.
Thus, global warming must be on the wane!

You know why they call these hundred year floods???? Because you can expect one every hundred years. And this was expected before any globull baloney alarmism.

All winter people bitched about the cold and continuous snow storms. That snow fall has to go somewhere in the Spring. Record snow falls result in record flooding. The exception is when we head into an ice age. Ice age snow fall collects as glaciers. Be very worried if we don't have flooding in the Spring after record winter snowfall.

Gosh, I wonder why there’s those levies and stuff along the river there... Could it be because they are used every once in a while, and not just there to block the ‘lovely view’ of the Mississippi, Red, etc rivers?

"ABC, NBC Claim Link between Iowa Floods and Global Warming" Well of course! A bunch of liberal arts majors with journalism degrees trumps the SCIENTIFIC METHOD every time!
Science is for nerds... irrational baseless hysteria is for the masses!
Have they gotten a photo of a black person on a roof so that they can roll out their mantra of "Bush hates black people!"
For non bias reporting, the one trusted source is Katie Couric of the Pravda Network.

The media is making a far bigger thing out of this flooding than it deserves. This isn’t the first time we’ve had serious floods in this country.
To: Rufus2007
I'm sure that the extra dose of cold air that's most assuredly built up over the past year had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with these storms and floods.
