[UK] Army ‘vacuum’ missile hits Taliban
timesonline.co.uk ^ | June 22, 2008 | Michael Smith

Apache attack helicopters have fired the thermobaric weapons against fighters in buildings and caves, to create a pressure wave which sucks the air out of victims, shreds their internal organs and crushes their bodies.

...When it hits the target, the charge disperses the aluminium powder throughout the target building. The cloud then ignites, causing a massive secondary blast that tears throughout any enclosed space.

The blast creates a vacuum which draws air and debris back in, creating pressure of up to 430lb per sq in. The more heavily the building is protected, the more concentrated the blast.

...When the American military bought them in 2005, President George W Bush said: “There are going to be some awfully surprised terrorists when the thermobaric Hellfire comes knocking.”

Great weapon to dispose of Iranians when the time comes.

I'd like to see research on a pig fat vapor bomb.

Something along the lines of.....

Mohammed the Goat Pimp; "Yes we saw the Apache fire the missile. It hit Mohammeds house. It martyred him, his brother Mohammed, and twenty other martyrs that were studying poetry. The whole house blew up. There was a strong odor of bacon. Maple bacon. Peace Be Upon Him."

The mere news of the “thermobaric Hellfire” will probably cause one
CNN Reporter to swoon and/or have a stroke: Barbara Starr.

When a military spokesman was relating the details of the final minutes
of the life of terrorist Zarqawi after his shelter got hit by a US bomb...
Ms. Starr started bombarding the spokesperson with concern-tinged
questions about whether Mr. Zarqawi had received tender, loving care
from the USA personnel that arrived on scene.

I guess she was just saddened to realize the punk’s last gasping
moments were realizing he’d been ultimately punked by an infidel’s bomb
and probably having to look in the faces of some army grunts.
(that is, if he hadn’t had his retinas detached)

More or less the same thing, minus sucking the air out of the victims, but only where it manages to send shrapnel. The point of these is that even if there’s lots of strong obstacles, so long as either the initial shockwave from the detonation of the aluminum powder, or the suction from the air returning, gets to you, you’re toast. Good for caves, underground bunkers and the like.

“This new bomb sucks. Conventional bombs blow.”

I notice it took 19 posts to observe this.

Oh, her - Barbara Starr! She gives me the trots. She has this hang-dog look and sooooooooo sympathetic to the terrorists. Everytime I see her on tv, I always wonder (I know, this is strange) what she looked like as a baby or a little kid. She always looks the same, like she’s looked like this all of her life. I’ve pictured her in a cradle, a little tiny body but that same face, same hairstyle, same glasses! Never even cute! Geez! This election is getting to me. (Sorry, hubbie’s at the fishing camp, I’m hitting the Chardonnay.)

The terrorists plant VX nerve gas bombs on Alcatraz island and threaten to detonate it and poison all of San Fran, and so Cage and Connery go in to try to defuse the bomb before the USAF does the last resort which is dropping thermobaric bombs on the island to (hopefully) incinerate the nerve gas.

What was that, 10 years ago now?

The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has admitted to the use of the weapons, condemned by human rights groups as “brutal”, on several occasions, including against a cave complex.

To the contrary you bunch of hopeless wimps this is a very merciful bomb. Death comes quickly and relatively painlessly.

The terrorist we are fighting are brutal. They cut off (more like saw) the heads of their victims with a dull knife. Death at the hands of our enemies is agonizingly slow, painful and terrifying.

These people need to get their heads straight.

I don't know if this is thermobaric, but it's a nice blast on some Mahdi Army dingdongs.
