We conservatives should hate liberals and centrists - on principle and policy grounds. And we don't need finks like Scott McClellan telling us its time to eschew the hatred and the venom. The Left has never ended its war upon conservatives. Compromise on the terms demanded by the Left and McClellan is tantamount to a call for unilateral disarmament. No one else is going to stand up for conservatives We have no reason whatsoever to slit our own throats and even while dying to let the Left know we agree with them on nearly everything. Heck, if that's what's demanded of conservatives and we go along with it, then the conservative movement will really be dead and buried in America.

IMO, the "my liberal family and friends" crowd are in the same camp as those who lobby for the appeasement of our nation's enemies. Less than useless, they are part of the problem.

Clinton on sax and Ted Kennedy on Scotch.

Exactly. Too many Republicans - and that includes our party's nominee - have convinced themselves that if they adopt only half the Left's loaf, they will be loved and adored by the establishment. The only problem is the Left wants the rest of it and no amount of compromise will satiate their appetite to destroy conservatives in toto. So the lesson here is its time to take no prisoners and to fight back hard and win. There's no alternative if we truly want to win the hearts and minds of the American people.

After having spent the last week or so in the company of a good friend who happens to be a liberal Democrat --- agreeing with Don Feder’s essay is easy.

I spent several hours high in the Rocky Mountains attempting to educate my friend on American politics 2008, using the hard facts of truth. In the end, it was clear my friend still has a bad case of BDS --- Bush Derangement Syndrome. Everything starts and ends with the "evil" Bush and Cheney administration. Of course, my friend can't give any substative evidence to prove that the POTUS and VPOTUS are the evil, or that considering voting for Obama is a sign of sanity.

There is no such thing as a "liberal"! A liberal is **never** satisfied. Every compromise a conservative makes is merely one more stop on the train line. The final destination is COMMUNISM! ( Yes, I am shouting.)

I can barely stand to listen to the talk radio Pumpkin Heads, especially Rush. Rush **KNOWS** better! He **knows** that the enemy is communism and Marxism. He **knows** the nation's enemies are Marxists, communists, and their Useful Idiots, yet rarely points out to his listeners that this is indeed what drives **all** liberalism. And,...Rush seldom calls these enemies by their true names: COMMUNISTS and MARXISTS!

Yes, I am shouting! America is asleep. I am disgusted.

Demonizing the opposition has been SOP for the left -- from the French Revolution, to Leninism and Stalinism, to the nihilism of the ‘60s New Left, to the anti-Americanism and reverse racism that dominate our college campuses today, to the defamation of Christianity and Middle America emanating from Hollywood, academia, the mainstream media and the Democratic Party.

French Revolution: Failed, resulted in Napoleon, certainly not the goal of the Revolution.

Leninism and Stalinism: Failed. USSR collapsed.

60s New-Left: Failed. Only able to get elected when running as supposed southern conservatives (Carter, Clinton.) IOW, when it dropped the overt hatred and played the we're all in this together card.

So Feder thinks that using hatred as a strategy, which failed for the left, is going to work for the right? What foolishness!

I don’t believe hate is productive at all. If you want to see perpetual hatred take a good look at the gangs of LA, or Darfur, or any other situation where the violence is unending.

And, how does hating people because of their beliefs mesh with your so-called Christian principles? “Well, they do it to us!” is not a good response. A childish one perhaps, but aren’t conservatives supposed to be the grownups?
