Looks like this almost bloodless take over of the Mahdi army is working out pretty well. Sadr will probably stay in his villa in Iran. After all. He probably has electricity 24 hours a day to sit at his computer and play war games, whatever.
Meanwhile his Lts. continue to be rounded up, and weapon caches and further proofs of Iranian arm smuggling found.
I can't help but wonder if the masses that have been under Sadr's sway understand he is living in a most probably nice villa, wife doing his bidding, and out of the line of fire.
One thing is for sure. Sadr lost his bid to maintain any power within the Maliki government. He probably is toast if he where to return to the slums of Baghdad.
