Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.), one of the most vocal opponents of the Bush administration on Capitol Hill, said Scott McClellan's book and testimony justify the beginning of impeachment hearings against Vice President Dick Cheney.
During questioning of McClellan, Wexler asked the former White House press secretary if he believed Bush authorized the leaking of Valerie Plame Wilson's name. When McClellan said no, Wexler said this meant that Cheney must have been the source of the leak, meaning Cheney was seeking to retaliate against the wife of an administration critic. In Wexler's view, this would be enough to support the initation of impeachment hearings against Cheney immediately.
Wexler also suggested that Congress should use its authority under the inherent contempt statute to arrest Andrew Card and Karl Rove if they don't respond to Judiciary Committee subpoenas.
"We have the power of inherent contempt, and need be, we should use it," Wexler thundered.
Isn’t Colorado getting all the left wing loons moving from CA, as that is what I was told off a friend of mine?
It’s is infuriating that they make a mess of their northeastern states and when they enough they move to another state only to vote the way they did thus making it look like their old state.
stupidity at it’s highest, I went on a website called city data.com ( a relocation site)and was telling people that they are more than welcome if they want to move here but we like how we live , low taxes, speak English here anyway, castle law, 2nd amendment is observed, basically a slower way of life and conservative view especially on family and do not change it to the state you left. There is a reason why you left, remember
I was banned off it
seems liberals just don’t like the truth
Though it is amusing when you confront these people and ask them about how do they like living here, no traffic, low taxes etc etc etc, they say great and it’s only until you say well remember this is a republican place and that is why you must like it and it was the DEms who ruined your old place.
They just look dumbfounded but you go on your way with a cheery smile and leave them to their confusion
(”If a President of the United States ever lied to the American people he should resign.” Bill Clinton in 1974)
Wexler’s own official bio includes this:
He has a B.A. in Political Science from the U of FL, and ***a law degree from George Washington U.***.
Law degree from George Washington U.
come one the Dems never go by what they say
just a few years ago they said every vote counts and yet when the massed vote to have marriage between a man and a woman they ignore it, even in MA they didn’t even let the people there vote on the issue they banned on and refused to have it on the ballot
so yep if a Dem ever went by his word I would be very surprised
Congressman Wexler has been under strain from the long war on terror and many late online hours of Internet ‘games of skill’.
Upon conclusion of the testimonies, Wexler could be heard mumbling to himself as he exited the chambers, “Ah, but the strawberries! That’s, that’s where I had them. They laughed at me and made jokes, but I proved beyond the shadow of a doubt, and with, with geometric logic, that, that a duplicate key to the Congressional icebox did exist. And I would have produced that key if they hadn’t pulled the Vice President and Karl Rove’s weather machine out of action. I, I know now they were only trying to protect some fellow Republican.....
Literally take them into custody and incarcerate them.
Anything they can do to try to get the spotlight off of the fact that since the dems took office, gasoline prices, and now food, and soon the prices of everything else, have begun to rise at a staggering rate.
The media hasn't begun to report the cost of this coming winters fuel prices: Heating oil will be skyrocketing. Natural gas prices will probably be up at least 20%, probably more. And electricity? Well, remember that the majority of electricity in the US is powered by coal fired plants... Ever wonder how the coal gets to those plants? Trains powered by diesel, which is around $5 a gallon these days.
Wexler knows that if the public were to realize what the dems have been doing all these years, and what their future plans are, that his days would be numbered in congress, and he'd have an appointment at the Tar and Feather day spa.
Mark
I nominate Wexler as the craziest man in Congress...and is that ever saying a lot.
It is all nonsense.
Wexlar is off his meds again.....someone needs to call the men in their little white coats to go retrieve him.
Queeg had it right......clink clink clink...
“We have the power of inherent contempt, and need be, we should use it,” Wexler thundered.
Hey stupid, don’t you realize that 88% of America holds you in contempt.
Can anyone tell me how I (we) can bill Congres for high oil prices, high food prices, taking money under false pretenses and impersonating a Congressman/Senator?
dims never let some little something like ‘facts’ get in the way of what they want to do.
Dear Moonbat Congressman Wexler, kindly point out the "power of inherent contempt" outlined in the Constitution.
My copy seems to have not published that particular section. I'm sure it's there between the lines somewhere
Bring it Onnnn!
Putting aside Wexler’s insane rant, does this man need a hearing aid? Every time I see the guy on TV , he is screaming at the microphone rather than talking.
Wasn’t it Wexler who started the whole “butterfly ballot” debacle? He said constituents were calling him, distraught over the fact that they “thought” they had accidently voted for Buchanan because of the placement of the candidates’ names.
You’d think most representatives would be loathe to claim that their constituents were a bunch of morons who couldn’t properly read a name, then punch a hole beside that name, but Wexler proudly championed that fact for political advantage.
It's the seriousness of the CHARGE that matters.
True,sad but true.
Earning a law degree doesn't make you a lawyer, passing the bar exam does. The fact that his bio states that he earned the degree, and doesn't mention that he is a lawyer, usually means that he flunked the bar exam. Running for congress, flipping burgers, and shoveling manure are all good careers for students that flunk the bar exam.
