Energy: The public wants more oil, but Democrats keep offering the same solutions, not one of which includes drilling and all of which are asinine. Do they think the American people are fools?
Meanwhile, a new Reuters/Zogby poll found that 60% of the public is in favor of increased drilling and refining, while two-thirds responding to a Rasmussen poll — including 46% of those who call themselves liberal — think drilling should be allowed offshore.
Not to be outdone, a Gallup poll discovered that 57% are in favor of a new wave of drilling "in U.S. coastal and wilderness areas now off limits."
It seems Americans are well aware that members of Congress, not the oil executives they've demonized for decades, are to blame for the punitive prices we are having to pay at the gas pump. They want lawmakers to do something about it.
But as long as Democrats remain in the congressional majority, it's unlikely that prices will fall even modestly. The solutions the party is offering are, at best, useless. Actually, we're being overly generous, because the Democrats' answers to the oil issue are childish responses that would do more harm than good.

If I hear “We can’t drill our way out of it” one more time I am going to puke. Of course we can drill our way out of it. That is where it all starts, getting it out of the ground. Any idiot who says this has no clue as to what supply and demand mean.

Obama and Dems. may find this a losing issue. 46% of liberals want offshore drilling? well, I think people are realizing that the Dems. in Congress don’t have solutions. And the fact is, even if you strongly believe in solar and wind power and all that, we will be using fossil fuels for the foreseeable future. So then among our choices are to keep taking it up the tailpipe from OPEC, or producing more ourselves.
Based on whom they've elected year after year, I'd say, sure, and with good reason.
That and that it would take 10 years to get the oil out and that the price at the pump would only go town 1 or 2 cents per gallon at the pump are some of the lousiest and lamest excuses they come up with. I believe the GOP’s theme should be “It’s the high gas prices Stupid”
No, not really. Just half the American people. Those are the ones that vote the 'Rats/Rinos in. They rest of them? They can go pound sand... 'Rats/Rinos don't need their votes.
They will still go to the polls and pull the lever for the same ‘Rats that have been voting against their interests for the past 50 years.

What do the Democrats take us for? Peasants who exist to pay taxes. They should remember what happened to the Bourbons.
Democrats are self-serving elitists. They care not one whit about the people in this country.
