Heinz is set to challenge some viewer expectations with a light-hearted TV campaign that features two men sharing a kiss.
The TV commercial, which promotes a new range of dressing called Heinz Deli Mayo, breaks tonight and will be supported by a press campaign.
Heinz' new ad opens with a family on a normal morning routine with a young boy and girl getting ready for school and their father preparing for the office.
The young boy and girl go to the kitchen to get their sandwiches, which are being prepared by a man with a New York accent dressed in a deli serving outfit who they refer to as "mum".
When their father goes to get his sandwich he says to mum in the kitchen "See you tonight love".
However, mum barks back "Hey, ain't you forgetting something?", at which point the two men share a kiss. Mum then sends the father off with the words: "Love you. Straight home from work, sweet cheeks."

Okay. I’m done with Heinz products, period.
I agree, but I think the mouth kiss is a not so subtle okay for those who think homosexuality is acceptable, which is VERY common in the UK and EU...
I wonder if those here who see a gay ‘couple’ would have protested if the father had simply kissed the ‘mum’ on the cheek before leaving for work?
LMAO..thats a good one
I remember Sammy Davis Junior kissing Carrol OConnor flat on the lips in an episode of All in the Family".
Not true, I remember the episode well and it was on his cheek. The joke was Archie was a racist and a black gave him smack while some one (I think Mike) documented it on film. Same with the others you mentioned, and no they were not promoting homosexuality. In fact it was the grossness of it that was the humor.
Ascared of catching the gay?
Straight (no pun intended) out of the lib play book. I could care less it they want to screw each other in their noses, I don't want to have to view it nor be forced to accept it as normal.
BTW, "catching the gay" infers an illness or a disease. Are you slipping on that particular kind of flavor?
Got bad news for you. Del Monte is owned by Heinz.
So, you're right. There's no difference.
Owned by Heinz.
Nope. On the cheek. And I have the DVD to prove it.

Archie Bunker meets Sammy Davis Jr.
The kiss is in the last 30 seconds or so, and it is indeed on the cheek while someone takes a photograph of the two of them together.
I don’t like ketchup, but my mom likes Red Gold.
Made locally, right here in Upstate SC.
Its the BEST!
I really enjoy buying locally-made sauces, condiments, seasonings, etc. when my lady and I travel, you've just added Duke's to the list when we get to SC later this year. Do they sell it at the Piggly Wiggly?
Here’s the whittled down version of that l ist with just the stuff distributed in the US.

LEA & PERRINS????
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Actually I do buy Plochman’s, and other brands, more often than Heinz Mustard. It’s the Lee&Perrin’s that is irreplaceable. I’ve tried the store brand Worcestershire sauce and it just doesn’t get it. I can live without the Delimex taquitos too. They’re just handy when I want to nuke a quick snack.
Is that Robert DeNiro?
Anyway, what a stupid ad. I’ve noticed a lot of ads now have subtle homosexual style in them. On the radio I’ve heard several different ads with lisping men that somehow always include the name “Mary.”
Exactly! :-(
The SCOTUS reference was to those on the court who see or read plain english (The Constitution) and see things that are not there or completely misinterpret it, as I think you have done with this commercial. JMHO
Thanks for the Archie link. That was indeed a classic
Del Monte is Heinz-owned. Hunts ketchup is not affiliated with Heinz.
