The Holocaust was not a cause of the war, but a consequence of the war. No war, no Holocaust.
That's true, the treatment of Jews wasn't a cause of the war, though in retrospect most American's consider the nature of the Nazi as clear evidence of the evil we were confronting. Discarding it's relevance one must accept several things. That the pre-war treatment of Jews under the Nuremburg laws was just fine. For Jews, no citizenship, removal from jobs, pensions, loss of property. Not much to criticize there Pat, and certainly no hint as to what was to come. The slaughter of political dissidents, that's fine. So much for criticism of Stalin on that score. Can't criticize the gulags if you accept the Nazi camp system. Homosexuals, the retarded, heck, they should die.
Of course underlying Pat's worldview is the fact that Europe, East and West, under the Reich for a millenia would be preferable to a free Western Europe, the East under the Communist heel for 4 decades.

Its a banality of evil that he does not recognize. In the WWI, the Kaiser Germany was an aggressor, looking for the space, power and all. But in a more conventional, “usual” way. Just one younger wannabe Empire fighting older Empires.
Lets take an occupied Ukraine, for example. The German occupation during the WWI was a relatively organized and on many occasions less painful to ordinary people caught in-between all the warring parties from Reds to Greens to Whites.
That memory of German relative civility even prompted some Jews naively not to escape them during the WWII. (and be killed). But brutality of Germans during the WWII did not stop with Jews. While not targeted for immediate extermination, the Slavs, nevertheless, were relegated to the lowly, often slave, labor role. Many who would not mind the communist rule to be gone, stopped seeing Germans as liberators quite quickly.
It is very instructive how different Germans became from WWI to WWII. The Holocaust was, of course, not a cause for war, but indication of the spreading evil malaise of Nazism, corrupting German society and making them collaborators in the industrial slaughter of human beings.
If Churchill had not taken over in 1940, we might all be speaking German and Japanese. He was not perfect, but he showed great spine and courage despite the apparent odds in 1940. If Britain had given in in 1940, Hitler might well have been able to force Stalin to surrender and had the vast resources of much of Russia at his disposal. That would have been even worse for the USA, Britain, and civlization. Note: Stalin was just as wicked and evil as Hitler; as a mass murderer, Stalin killed far more people than even Hitler - he had more time to do so. Hitler and his demonic compatriots planned from way before WW2 to get rid of the Jewish people in Europe one way or another, and have their muzzie allies (the mufti if Jersualem - may he be forever blotted out) in the middle east take care of the Jewish people there. Pat’s dreamworld seems to be one that has no Jewish people. If he’d been alive in 1939, he’d likely have been a super isolationist apologist for that lowlife Hitler. Pat can kindly go stuff a potato in his mouth, go sit on an air hose, and turn it on full blast!
