This should serve as a warning to all freedom loving Americans. Before pulling the lever this coming November, remember: both Hillary and Obama support draconian gun laws aimed not at criminals (because criminals don't obey the laws anyway), but at law abiding citizens.

“1 in 10 would actively resist and be burned to death or gunned down in their homes with their families.”
The feds would take such casualties in the first week that by the second week they would be paralyzed with fear.
“Shoot the brave ones first; the rest will run away.” Stonewall Jackson
Stonewall Jackson was a wise man.

“I don’t see it. We have the Constitution, they have APCs and Tanks.”
Like someone said to me, “they gotta get out of the tank to take a dump eventually.”

“federal fascists will resort to chemical and biological weapons in problem areas”
Actions like these, I suspect, might even get the Leftists off their butts. I don’t see people, at least most of the ones I know, cowering in their homes when their fellow citizens are being slaughtered.
I could be wrong and my be the first fool standing/dying but, if there’s an ounce of dignity and spirit left in the souls of men, we will rise up for our liberty.
The Davidians got their licks in initially. Most of us don't have a compound to retreat to so, we would need to go on the offensive in large numbers.
IMO, they don't pay LEO, NG or regular military enough to kill fellow citizen on a large scale, nuts or not.
The scenario you painted, if it should ever come to that, would be much further out in the gun confiscation progression. My hunch is that it would never come to that. It's my guess that most folks would quietly hand over their guns to the authorities. Look at the Ruby Ridge and Branch Dividan massacres. Did large numbers of people go to their aid? Answer is nope. In fact, military and law enforcement personnel on the scene of each went about their business as ordered even though it is widely assumed that these folks are very conservative politically and for the most part pro-gun. I think the “frog in the pot of water” metaphor would more than likely apply to the outcome. You know, gradually turn up the heat and the frog will sit quietly in the pot of water until his butt is cooked...
military, mostly no...but leo ???
WACO comes to mind...
I don’t think that’s quite the same as enforcing the confiscation of all our weapons.
Look up the laws for each state at the NRA website, you will find the most current laws available for your perusal.
If and when the fed can generate 'enough' commanders of small units, it will be an offensive against 'gangs' or 'drug dealers' or 'illegal guns'...
NO evidence neccesary or suspects arrested to say otherwise, just smoldering rubble where your house and family used to be...
sorry bout the negativity this AM...

Oh so I can buy a handgun in Chicago, NYC, Boston? perhaps if I’ve donated enough to the mayor.
Cops enforce unconstitutional laws all the time. Few people will have enough will to contest the orders given to them by their seniors. Behavioral studies and history show this to be true.
“IMO, they don’t pay LEO, NG or regular military enough to kill fellow citizen on a large scale, nuts or not. “
If given the choice of being a cop and applying martial law, or getting fired and being the subject of martial law, which do you think the majority of people would do?
Bump
The cops confiscated peoples guns in NO after Katrina. Not one gun was ‘pulled from cold, dead hands.’ When a couple of carloads of them show up at your door are you going down in a burst of flames or would you let them in?
There will always be restrictions dependent on state and local laws, but there are no states laws against purchasing or owning a weapon. None of us can have everything we want, we have to adapt. Perhaps, you should think about living in those cities, that are too restrictive.
Time will tell.
‘None of us can have everything we want, we have to adapt. “
how easily you give up your second amendment rights.
Can we have a hunting rifle? Or a semi-auto shotgun? Or do we have to adapt to a single shot?
I don’t live in those cities because of those laws.
I haven’t given up anything, especially my 2nd amend rights. Many local gun laws have been on the books for a long time, it stands to reason, that a city like Chicago, is going to have different laws than a city of 500K, or a rural area. I happen to live where I have all the freedom to purchase, own, collect, shoot and hunt to my hearts content.
The regular military don’t take an oath to a President, or the Congress or a King. They take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic. As you well know, the 2A is part of that Constitution. Would there be some members of the military that would participate in large scale gun confiscation if they were asked to, certainly. However, being a former Marine myself, I know that no one in the military is required to obey an unlawful order and a large majority of military would not participate in large scale gun confiscation.
As an aside, when I first took that oath to defend the constitution at 17, I thought about those words. I didn’t give much thought to protecting the Constitution against domestic enemies. Rightfully so, I thought about those foreign enemies. As I have grown older, more and more I believe that some of our worst enemies are those domestic enemies. In many cases, they are worse than our foreign enemies.
