“Actions like these, I suspect, might even get the Leftists off their butts. I don’t see people, at least most of the ones I know, cowering in their homes when their fellow citizens are being slaughtered.”

The scenario you painted, if it should ever come to that, would be much further out in the gun confiscation progression. My hunch is that it would never come to that. It's my guess that most folks would quietly hand over their guns to the authorities. Look at the Ruby Ridge and Branch Dividan massacres. Did large numbers of people go to their aid? Answer is nope. In fact, military and law enforcement personnel on the scene of each went about their business as ordered even though it is widely assumed that these folks are very conservative politically and for the most part pro-gun. I think the “frog in the pot of water” metaphor would more than likely apply to the outcome. You know, gradually turn up the heat and the frog will sit quietly in the pot of water until his butt is cooked...

Ruby Ridge and Branch Davidian massacres are really bad examples. RR was out in the boonies where only a few died and the BDs obviously saw it coming. It took 50 something days before the Gov decided to torch them.

My Wife and I decided long ago to go down shooting. We don't have a vast arsenal or a defensible compound. All we have is each other and some principles to live or die by.

Without the ability to defend ourselves, what good is living? TFMCDH
