They’re calling on Congress to set the price of gas......

Until America starts drilling for its own oil and becomes competitive with OPEC and other drilling nations, Congress can't set squat. Well, they can put any price tag on a gallon of gas, but they'll still be paying over $100/barrel for the oil used to make it. So who will make up the difference when they 'set' prices at $2/gallon that they should be charging $4/gallon for? What do you mean, look in the mirror?

Or maybe they'll ration gasoline. And make new heaps of misery...and sink the economy. That's pretty much all they are good at.

So what's the opinion on today's Democrats...uneducated or addicted to populist speak?

Congress can never “set the price” for anything.
Period.

The market sets the price, and if Congress set a price lower than the market price, there would simply be no supply: why would a company sell gasoline, (or anything else, for that matter) for a lower price here than he could get for it in Europe or China?

Addicted to populist demogoguery, for sure.

But, increasingly, the Congressional Democrats are convincing me that they are just stone ignorant.

Dear Leader Pelosi -- a wealthy, ambitious airhead -- being a case in point.
