Democrat claims that leases are sitting idle are FALSE and MISLEADING.Here are the facts:
FACT: Once a lease is secured, a long, comprehensive exploration process begins thatcan require years of mapping, testing, drilling and construction and can cost millions or even billions of dollars. Bidding on, paying for and securing a lease is not a license to drill, nor can production occur immediately. Even after time delays associated with initial leasing and drilling of exploratory wells, it has taken nearly a decade to produce energy on leases in the past. Democrats mislead when they say a classification of not in production is the same as sitting idle.
Wall Street Journal: Companies dont know how much oil is under the lands they lease, so they buy up large swaths in hope that a fraction will work out. Much of the area that isnt producing, they say, doesnt have oil or gas in commercially viable quantities. Moreover, bringing a new field into production can require years of mapping, testing, drilling and construction during which time the land would show up in statistics as being not in production, even as companies spend millions or even billions of dollars to bring it on line.

It’s like saying you can’t eat your way out of starvation.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!! I hope one of our crew uses that on live TV or Radio ASAP when confronted by the lib lie machine ....
Those are also Bill O'Reilly's talking points
That's not a bad thing. But it's foolish to be a mindless defender of them in the name of free markets. If anyone thinks there is truly a free market when it comes to oil, they're delusional. Supply and demand can't exist when supply is made meaningless by manipulation.
Thanks, Neidermeyer! Feel free to spread it around.
This is all I am hearing everywhere today!
Democrats in Congress don’t know what they’re talking about. There are a few exceptions, those who willfully lie.
Incidentally, they’re way out of touch with mainstream America on the amnesty for illegals issue as well. Unfortunately, Juan McCain has thrown that perfectly good issue out the window.
“The Democrat Poltical Machine is lying ?
Who could have seen that coming...................”
We saw it coming when Clinton was President.
I do not see what anyone sees in O'Reilly. I think he is just Lou Dobbs with a hair piece.
My Congressman, way to go Opie!! Lets get this out there in front of the voters - and lets fight to win seats!!
The Dems don't want kids to be raised by a mommy & daddy, they want the kids to be raised by the government!!
House Rep Xan...*** from California was on Kudlow spouting this crap....Acted like the Oil Companies were prime meat to be taken over since they were not drilling on the leases...
opeative word here:
” gonads”
Unless they suddenly sprout them or find them on sale at the locat Wal Mart I’m not counting on it. The President and R’s in congress will be brow beaten, retreat to the corner, and assume the fetal position. I have no-zip-zero-zilch-faith in those weaklings.
I am curious where the claim that there are 14 years worth of oil on those leases came from? Which lease has that oil?
The claim that we can’t drill our way out of this crises, may be partially true. But, drilling can relieve a lot of the problem. Throw in some nukes, coal and tar sand, you may have a way to bridge over to alternatives. The market can develop and spot winners and losers much quicker than government monopoly. Government has only one option, more taxes.
“2. If you drill now, we still won’t have production for ten years.”
And they continually get away with this BS with a lap dog, willing press and Congress etc.....
DISGUSTING....
Put your ‘flames’ away, that should read IRAQ not IRAN, but the point is there.
