Man accidentally kills himself while trying to rob a Grand Prairie home

A 19-year-old man accidentally shot and killed himself Tuesday morning while he was attempting to rob a Grand Prairie home, authorities said.

Cameron Sands, 19, of Fort Worth kicked in the door of the house and then shot himself in the stomach as he pulled a gun out of his pants to shoot the homeowner, Grand Prairie police said. The homeowner was not injured.

He must have gone the LGTC (Liberal Gun Training Class):

1. Make sure your weapon is fully loaded, with a round in the chamber, and the safety off.

2. While reaching for your weapon, you immediately place your finger on the trigger and draw your weapon.

- This way it will not be necessary to actually engage your intended target, whether they are armed on not.

Then seek immediate medical assistance at the nearest free clinic, if you can.

Notice the story does not mention what time the door was kicked in, only what time the police found the body in the driveway.

This guys intelligence was already known when you realize that he thought there was a house in Grand Prairie that was worth robbing....

Generally speaking that could be a problem. This one however was just east of 360, and between I-20 and the lake. Not real big lots, but nice houses, lots with pools. I checked it out on Live Search Maps which has a nice "birds eye view" feature.
