I think Americans would know how to deal with this crap.
I sometimes need to use a cane. But, it’s not exactly just a cane,,,,,,,,,
"FBI Agent Bob Rudge said the cane-shaped weapon fired shotgun shells..."

What is clearly needed here is more multicultural understanding. Gordon Brown should contact the Muslim Council of Britain immediately.
Above all, we should be on the lookout for a possible backlash against peaceful muslims for ... (you know the rest)
Oh, really?...Really?...Really, Officer Biggles, you retain an open mind as to the motive? Really? Really?! REALLY?! A motive, like, say, this...
“...in danger of being labeled a ‘racist’ and having his / her career destroyed as a result.”
This will only end when we take the sting out of that word. Someone calls you a racist, say: “Yes, I am a racist, so what?” It is not illegal, after all, as long as you don’t discriminate, you don’t have to like it. I would be willing to bet that everyone is at least a little bit racist.
OTOH, IIRC there have been several instances of "leaders" trying to sneak away wearing full Burkas in Afghanistan. So if you see a 6' 6" "lady" in a burka with really big eyes and bushy eyebrows, report it to the nearest US Military or Homeland Security facility.
“I think self-defense is illegal in England isnt it?”
No, it isn’t.
It isn’t?
You mean you can carry a weapon to defend yourself? You can fire your shotgun at home invaders without fear of reprisal?
I must have missed that.
“You mean you can carry a weapon to defend yourself?”
Not so much, that’s not the question you asked though.
“You can fire your shotgun at home invaders without fear of reprisal?”
If they are posing a threat to you then yes. If you shoot them when they’re running away, that would be a problem. I believe most US jurisdictions would take a similar approach.
Maybe this might be of assistance:
http://www.cps.gov.uk/publications/prosecution/householders.html
“Anyone can use reasonable force to protect themselves or others, or to carry out an arrest or to prevent crime. You are not expected to make fine judgements over the level of force you use in the heat of the moment. So long as you only do what you honestly and instinctively believe is necessary in the heat of the moment, that would be the strongest evidence of you acting lawfully and in selfdefence. This is still the case if you use something to hand as a weapon.
As a general rule, the more extreme the circumstances and the fear felt, the more force you can lawfully use in self-defence.”
“What if the intruder dies?
If you have acted in reasonable self-defence, as described above, and the intruder dies you will still have acted lawfully. Indeed, there are several such cases where the householder has not been prosecuted. However, if, for example:
* having knocked someone unconscious, you then decided to further hurt or kill them to punish them; or
* you knew of an intended intruder and set a trap to hurt or to kill them rather than involve the police,
you would be acting with very excessive and gratuitous force and could be prosecuted.”
“What if I chase them as they run off?
This situation is different as you are no longer acting in self-defence and so the same degree of force may not be reasonable. However, you are still allowed to use reasonable force to recover your property and make a citizen’s arrest. You should consider your own safety and, for example, whether the police have been called. A rugby tackle or a single blow would probably be reasonable. Acting out of malice and revenge with the intent of inflicting punishment through injury or death would not.”
Ok, interesting. I stand corrected.
Best,

Philadelphia has a large contingent of African-American Muslims, and I used to see nijab-wearing women fairly frequently.
One reason for its embrace by both men and women, is that it identifies a Muslim woman as "one of ours", for reasons of control by the Muslim community, and for identifying non-Muslim women as acceptable targets for assault and rape. The latter is especially the case in Europe.
