Former Gov. Jesse Ventura would trim support from both Sen. Norm Coleman and Coleman's DFL challenger, Al Franken, if he were to enter the U.S. Senate race, a Survey USA poll has found.

It would be funny if Coleman beat both Franken and Ventura. It was Ventura who beat out Coleman in the 1998 race for Governor.

The only reason Ventura would run is to try to screw Coleman a second time.

I think she’s more of a liability than an asset.

Republican Norm Coleman holding on to a narrow 48% to 45% lead.

But the introduction of former Governor Jesse Ventura into the race as a third party candidate could change things dramatically in Coleman’s favor, according to a Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Minnesota voters taken Wednesday night.

In a three-way match-up, 24% back Ventura. Coleman’s support drops to 39%, but Franken’s falls ever further — to 32%. Five percent (5%) are undecided.

Sixty percent (60%) of Minnesota voters, however, say Ventura should not run, although 27% want him to and 13% are undecided.

But Coleman has been a better senator than Ventura was a governor. Ventura was going to lose a reelection bid, so he didn't even run for reelection in 2002.

He doesn’t want to be Senator, he just want’s to rile folks up. I would love to see what happened when Ventura and the other comic got into a “debate” together. I think it would be a riot. Coleman would come off as the only sane one in the bunch.
