Three horrors await Americans who get behind the wheel of a car for a family road trip this summer: the spiraling price of gas, choruses of "Are we there yet?"and the road rage of fellow drivers.
Divine intervention might be needed for the first two problems, but science has discovered a solution for the third:
Watch out for cars with bumper stickers.
That's the surprising conclusion of a recent study by Colorado State University social psychologist William Szlemko.

Aggressive driving might be responsible for up to two-thirds of all U.S. traffic accidents that involve injuries. This is the first time I ever read this. I believe it to be true. I've always thought that the obsession with drunk driving overlooks the larger cause of fatalities: aggressive driving.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying legalize drunk driving. For the record, I don't even drink.
What I am saying is that sometimes I get the idea that drunk driving and parking tickets are the sum total of traffic enforcement in some jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, aggressive drivers are out there killing people.
Well dang... sorry I missed you! :-)
We’ve sure had a crappy spring, but now it’s warming up and sunny. Had a gorgeous weekend. North Dakota? Jeepers... hope you remembered yer mittens. :-)
Good luck out there!
Not surprising at all.
Question Gender.
What does that even MEAN?
The bumper sticker that infuriates me is the one that simply says, 01-20-09. When my wife isn’t looking I have been known to entend to the driver of that car a single fingered greeting.
So true IMO.
I would think if I put a bumper sticker on my rig that said F Obama I would be inducing others to rage.
My two bumper stickers read:
Stressed Out? Take a Prayer break.
And the black and white oval type with a Labrador and Cold Nose Crew
written across the top and their 3 names across the bottom.
Kinda like telling someone protection is on board but in fur and teeth mode and they DO protect and serve us.

A couple of years ago my 19 year old son’s old car was covered in death-metal stickers when he got pulled for speeding. The cop hassled him with suspicion about “having drugs” in the car. When the kid was allowed to speak he told the cop he was an A-B student at the university, had three professional computer certifications , was coming home to see his dad for the weekend and that he wasn’t stupid enough to jeopardize his future by messing with drugs.
The cop let him go without a ticket.
A few years ago there was a bumper sticker popular in Texas that said “Vehicle Insured by Smith and Wesson”.
Depends on the sticker. NRA stickers usually keep leftist would-be vandals at a safe distance. I have two small stickers on my Chevy Tahoe (NRA and my gun club) and never worry about vandalism.
More like auto-vandalism.
Better put some ice on that
LOL!
You do have to be a little careful with it, though. In certain locations, I’ll turn the ringer on soft, so it doesn’t broadcast very far. Offending people is one thing; enraging particular segments of the population is another.
Knights Of C ROCK!
thank you
