Dems: Pick Hillary at convention [Obama Remorse]
Pasadena Star News ^ | 06/16/2008 | By Tony Fellow

FORMER North Dakota Sen. Tom Daschle was as giddy as a school girl preparing for her first prom. One could see him jumping up and down yelling, "We'll have a candidate, we'll have a candidate by the end of the week." His choice for prom king all along was Barack Obama.

He like many others in the Democratic Party were in a twitter because the primaries had gone on too long and the party needed a candidate. A long list of other Washington politicos, including Howard Dean, head of the Democratic National Committee, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, wanted the process ended. Like scorned high school principals, they demanded that Hillary Clinton concede. The problem was she kept winning the big states and the swing states that Democrats need to win. And she owned 50 percent of the Democratic vote. But Dean was going to see that Clinton would not be the prom queen. He never liked the Clintons.

I stopped reading this piece after the first sentence. If they can't get their basic facts straight who cares about the analysis?

What exactly do they have to be remorseful about? Obama continues to lead in every poll and it is quite likely if the election were held today he would get more than 300 electoral votes, unless an awful lot of people are lying. He will have more money than McCain so everything is going in his favor. Maybe things will turn around but it is going to be awfully tough for McCain.

Obama will get 100% of the Dead Dim & x-felon vote, as well as 150% of all inner city votes in Chicago, Philly and the rest of the hellholes of Blue America. But 300 Electoral Votes seems unlikely.

“On top of it all, when the liberal wing of the Democratic Party is in charge, it has been disastrous. They’ve given us George McGovern, Walter Mondale, Michael Dukakis and John Kerry. Obama is the most liberal of all of them. And if you have been following the blogs, a third of Clinton’s supporters say they are voting for McCain while a good percentage of Latinos are thinking of sitting this one out. Many Democrats who are seniors say they feel akin to McCain. Let’s not forget that Catholics and middle-class Americans were slighted by this Democratic candidate and may go elsewhere. “

Gee could it possibly be that barack mcgovern it NOT going to win? Why how can this be???????? ALL of the EXPERTS say this is a rat year. PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE

He is losing with: White women and HUGE with White men ( who are the real prize since both frenchie and algore carried women and still lost).
He is not doing NEARLY as well with Jews and Hispanics as he will need to win.
And 20% of Democrats say they will not vote for him. What candidate EVER won after giving up 20% of his base?

Hey I’m open minded I’ll listen. Someone show me where his votes come from. And please skip the clearisil crowd, After they elected algore and frenchie they don’t know there is an election this year.

“Former NORTH Dakota Sen. Tom Daschle was as giddy as a school girl preparing for her first prom.”

I agree with your sentiments. After Daschle was the Senate Majority Leader for umpteen years, you would think a writer whould know he was from South Dakota.

Good observation... Obama will fare much worse than Kerry unless McCain gets caught in a homo trist.

Daschle was from SOUTH Dakota. South Dakota has a history of having at least one crackpot Senator. An error on such a basic fact as this casts doubt on the whole article.

Well, besides the “clearasil” crowd — and “youth” up to (say) 30 something:

Coastal cities. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Jose, LA, Boston, NYC, ...
Why? Go figure.

Inland college towns. Boulder, Austin, Madison, Ithaca, ... This makes sense.

Make no mistake, O!Bama will wrap up quite a few EVs this way. But not enough to get him elected, IMO.

I’m not so sure 4 years of Obama isn’t exactly what this country needs right now! It’ll be like watching a Mad Max movie, but it may save the Union. 4 years of Obama=20 years of conservative rule from 2012-2032!
