Just curious. Is there a tremendous difference in the results when you are run over by a car on one of these things or on a 1500cc Honda? Seems to me a motorcycle is a motorcycle when it comes to a crash. No metal around you.

Well yes and no. Most motorcyclists aren’t fooled into thinking they can ride in shorts and flip-flops. :/

Bikes, scooters, and motorcycles aren’t inherently dangerous of themselves. It’s the sharing the road part with mostly cars and trucks that adds greatly to the danger factor.

As opposed to a Corvette, which also has no metal around you...

Also, have you looked at the *1800*cc Honda tourers lately? The Goldwing incorporates rudimentary side impact protection under the fairing now.
