Society has certainly gone soft. Bruises on thigh and buttocks don’t constitute “severe beating.”

A severe beating is a face swollen to 3 times normal size, etc.

Looks to me like this is being presented as a case of “homophobia” when the reality is that grandma would probably have done the same had it been a boy in bed with her grandaughter.

Bruises on thigh and buttocks don’t constitute “severe beating.” - recently as a jurist on a trial the DA said in opening statements the lady had severly beaten her boss; during the trial they showed a cut on his finger that may have been 1/4" long, much less than my daughter gets playing with our cat.
