I'm guessing a large number of these are the escapees from a few days back.
Maybe this time we don't put them in jail?

"... around 500 Taliban fighters moved into his district and took over several villages." Another 500 idiots who forgot about the good ol' fashioned AIR STRIKES!

I'm sure they're not from the break out. It's too far away and it's too unlikely they were able mount any type of military operation after just escaping.

Well instead of feeding them they have become actual targets. AND...we need to make sure the path’s through the mountains are secured and blocked before engaging them.

I’m sure the villagers are delighted to have the Taliban back in control.
What could be more entertaining than the daily hangings, stonings, beheadings, and firing-squad executions?
Beats playing soccer with the coalition troops, no?

This is the MSM trying to portray the Taliban as strong as ever and able to defeat the Americans. 500 Taliban can't hold any village, much less villages, beyond what it takes for the US Troops to get there.

Time to “Surge” in Afghanistan. Attack them and when they run follow them and hunt them down like we did in Iraq.

I'm guessing a large number of these are the escapees from a few days back. Their suicide-bomber rescuers are in eternal torment, and these guys will soon join them. Probably they made a bad move.

‘It’s fair to say that the jailbreak has put a lot of people (militants) into circulation who weren’t there before.” ............................. So? The solution seems relatively simple to me. I see no problem locating them in the orchards, once their images show up, its just a matter of diminishing their heat signature.

“Taliban taking over villages” is a common and ongoing occurance in Afghanistan. The Taliban take over a shed in an area that has hardly any people and then claim they’ve taken over a village. The media throughout the world doesn’t really report this very often.
