Media ignore gagging sound from Canada

The MSM doesn't care if a conservative is gagged. They care if porn peddlers are gagged - or pervs of any stripe. Or liberals. But a conservative? NO WAY.

Canada's only major newspaper with a conservative bent is the National Post. A well known liberal family gained control. One of this family has come on side with conservatism. Still, some of the articles and racy talk reflects the take over. A stupid full page article at weekend on elderly persons sexual habits. Titled "Old people f---ing". Also the full page "beautiful people" of Toronto. (Melinda Hennesberger).

Mark Steyn has been given all the support it's conservative columnists can muster. Some exceptions to the rule here. David Frum gives us "Don't blame George Bush for anti-Americanism" on Saturday. I am remiss in not checking of the racy flamboyant Toronto Sun. It's editor, Peter Worthington, surely must have come out swinging for Steyn. I will have to check further.

Meantime many of the "ink stained wretches" can wallow in scandal that has brought down a Conservative cabinet minister. Eyes popping out at his former paramour's attributes. They can then adjoin to their favourite watering hole. Get plastered and toast "freedom of the press".

“An evangelical pastor, Stephen Boisson, was fined $5,000 by the
Alberta Human Rights Tribunal on May 30, 2008, for writing a letter
to the editor of a local paper in 2002 critical of homosexual
activism in the schools.”

Bet the Tribunal is smart enough to not go after Islamics that would
throw walls down onto homosexuals (given the chance).

More info on Boisson here:

I rather had the idea that it was the Canadian press that was being criticized. I am still not wrong in qualifying the Canadian press in being safely selective on the Steyn/Maclean's Magazine case. I hope I am wrong, but it seems to me that discretion seems the better part of valour to some extent.

We had one simply brilliant exchange with a gentleman, who moderates his show, called Steve Paikin (TVO) Television Ontario. Steyn was giving his side of the story, when he was informed that the three law students (Islam) were listening in a separate section. What followed was a masterpiece of diplomatic intervention by the moderator. Steyn had it out with them- outnumbered three to one. What a scrapper!.

Truth is the Canadian press to a large extent is keeping it's distance. Well, the Americans had John Peter Zenger, who was jailed for criticizing the Governor of New York in 1735. He stood trial for seditious libel and won.

No excuse here for the "ink stained wretches". (laughs)

Women should use this same tactic to shut down Islam and Sharia law.

Both the Koran and the verbiage of Sharia law spews hatred of women and should be banned - starting in Canada.

The American Media isn’t concerned about the attempted censorship of Mark Steyn because, as a conservative, they don’t consider him one of ‘them’.

This whole thing is ridiculous. A “select”, unelected group of privileged people shouldn’t be able to decide what people can and can’t say.

I’d like to see a gay man bring a case against Muslims for spreading hate against homosexuals. The commission would be in quite a pickle then :)
