Delegate’s Reversal Stuns Party - Wisconsin Democrat Now Publicly Supports McCain

Washington - As an avid supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Debra Bartoshevich is not alone in her frustration over Clinton's defeat.

She’s not alone in refusing to support Barack Obama.

And she’s not entirely alone in saying she’ll vote this fall for Republican John McCain instead.

But what makes her unusual is that she holds these views as an elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer.

“I’m sure people are going to be upset with me,” said Bartoshevich, a 41-year-old emergency room nurse from Waterford in Racine County, and convention delegate pledged to Clinton.

Joe Wineke, chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, reacted with disbelief when first told Friday afternoon that one of his state party delegates is now a McCain supporter.

“Not a delegate? To the national convention?” said Wineke, who was getting ready for the start of the Wisconsin state party convention Friday in Stevens Point.

“We have a Clinton national (convention) delegate who says she’s voting for John McCain?” Wineke repeated, for clarification. “I’ve never heard of such a thing.”

Wineke said “almost everybody I know who was for Hillary” is solidly behind Obama now. As for Bartoshevich, he said, “my suspicion is she doesn’t know what she’s getting into” because “the delegates to this convention will be very upset.”

Asked if publicly supporting the other party’s presidential nominee could affect a delegate’s convention status, Wineke said, “I never thought I’d ever get a question like this.”

After some preliminary checking, Wineke said he assumed Bartoshevich would remain a delegate.

But Friday night, after a story about Bartoshevich appeared on the Journal Sentinel’s Web site, he had apparently reconsidered. At the state Democratic Party convention, party members, including Clinton supporters, unanimously passed a resolution asking the...

If this was the other way around, it would be the lead on every LSM TV station and newspaper.

So expect it to be ignored.

Now all he needs is some Republicans who want to vote for him.

With as close as the last several elections have been, if McCain can hold most Republicans and if only 10% of these upset Dems stay that way then he wins.

Very true. Just the same, it would have been nice had we nominated someone who actually agreed with our party platform, but you can't have everything, right?

This is bad news for conservatives. With McCain the leftist wannabe, appealing to these voters will drive him further to the left fringe. I would think he’d consider them not very trustworthy and likely to agitate for liberalizing the Republican party to a point more in their image. But then again, McCain has done much the same, and shows no inclination to limit his drift.

For those who consider him a “rock” on national security, what has he done in the past to make them think he’s so trustworthy on that issue? Why wouldn’t he sell that principle as he has his others?

Nobody, that I've seen, has explained why Obama is qualified to be president.

Obama offers change. With change comes risk, beaucoup risk. I see Obama's platform like a five card poker hand with two cards facing down.

Why of course Barry Hussein is qualified to be president. He’s a Marxist, he’s black and he reads speeches well. According to the rest of the left, that qualifies him.

"Why wouldn’t he sell that principle as he has his others?"

The man is a pandering, political, mealy-mouthed whore of a politician. He's an example of the worst of the breed

What he says his positions are means nothing. Nothing at all. He will say anything he thinks he has to. He has no principles.

I learned everything I ever needed to know about this man when he conspired with Kennedy and others to secretly railroad Comprehensive Immigration Reform through Congress in the dead of night and without proper debate. Legislation that would profoundly impact the future of Americans both financially and politically.

But we're supposed to vote for him because of his positions? Why do I care what positions a liar and a weasel says he holds?

And the three upcards are unplayable - like a two of hearts with a nine of diamonds and a six of clubs.

Juan’s got like a pair of fours and a queen.

They can pass a resolution against one of their own overnight...but 140+ years after slavery was ended, the Democrats still can't pass a resolution apoligizing for their support of slavery.

“Democrats for McCain!”

I have yet to speak to a single Democrat (not moonbats) in California that is voting for Obama. They are mostly voting for McCain and some are sitting this election out.

I can’t find many that aren’t better than Obama.

As I tell people at work; the only person that could make me vote for McCain is Obama.
